On your xsport have you had a engine failure? if not what are the HP/TQ number on it? what mods are on it as well?

No we have not had any engine failures, With just a tune and our Thunderstorm Cat-back exhaust we made 342 Hp and 397 Tq. This was with our CW tune and cat-back.

I just have to throw this out there;

I have owned and driven only Fords my whole life, with 1 exception. I have molded most of my Fords and driven ALL of them like I stole them. The only major issue I have ever had is with tranny's. Personally, on my SHO, I'd be more worried about the trans than the motor. I love my Ford's but they have trans issues.

Yep!  i think the most significant differences between the transverse and longitudinal 3.5EBs are the transmissions.

i believe the main reason Ford limited the power of the 3.5EBs in the SHO/MKS/Flex is to protect the tranny...

The truck EcoBoost engine uses Borg Warner turbo's which are slightly larger, Garretts on the transverse. Longitudinal engine also has steel crank/rods and forged pistons while the transverse uses cast crank and rods and cast pistons.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I just wanted to clarify for everyone after speaking with someone at Ford the crank and rod from the SHO are the same as what is in the F-150. The only differences are the pistons, and the F-150 has bigger turbos.

So the F150 would face the same vulnerability as the SHO in terms of HP levels?  Or do the pistons (how are they different) shield the rods in some way?

F-150's have a single larger turbo. Only the transverse is twin turbo.

Brain fart maybe ?

No. For some reason I thought the transverse was the only twin turbo ecoboost.

Is that the same for the Xsport?

I believe SHO/Flex/MKS/Explorer are identical.

Correct the Explorer sport and the SHO are the same. We are putting together a post for the differences between the taurus lines and the F-150 for you guys as soon as I have it done we will be posting.
