Got my car back from Livernois over the weekend after getting a custom tune for the following modifications:

Upgraded turbos with Garrett GTX billet compressor wheels and Turbosmart wastegates
..............
.......

I'll get around to scanning the dynosheet at some point.

Sorry about that I was the one who handed you the dyno sheet I simply printed the wrong one.

I'll be happy to loan you my iTSX so you can get a Torrie tune if you want with some remote tuning. This way you can try it, if you decide you want it I'll sell you the TSX. You'll only be out of pocket for the custom tune.

Mike thanks for replying nice to see you on here. We advised him that under 400 was an area that we think is for someone that doesn't have to worry about problems. It was a mutual decision. Also see a graph from his car that we don't feel comfortable with. Its not a matter of not knowing how to ad power its that "we" (the customer and Livernois) decided that this was what we wanted to do. These turbos really are nice, the back pressure was significantly lower and this achieved the power level with much less boost than other cars. The end product is a package that will provide good drive-ability, and longevity in the engine.

Attached is the dyno graph of Steves car but this did not leave our shop like this. If he wants this we can do it but not advised

The ATP turbos are fantastic! I would think since you have other customers, BPD, Steve and others with upgraded turbos making considerably more power on their dailies you could do his as well.
Is it the 2013 year difference aka lack of fuel or something else that has shifted your safety point down from 440ish to 400?
I'm working with Steve now on the fuel system and other items to get some more umph out of it. I completely disagree with LMS feelings on the 450+ HP barrier but then again I'm the only one who's been there besides the truck with upgraded turbos and fuel system I worked with. He's still running fine as well. ATP's truck is still running great also from my understanding. The empirical evidence seems to point to the fact that 450+ so far isn't an issue, detonation is for sure. There has been some rod failures but when you produce this many engines you will have a percentage of "bad" rods from the factory no matter what you do, byproduct of mass production. Those rods are failing at stock or near stock HP levels.

Time will tell as more people buy these vehicles and do more to them. I hope for everyone's sake 450HP isn't the wall for reliability.

^^^^l love that you were waiting to do that. But that not saying i don't like what you say because you bring a little facts with it and they don't and Im all about getting everything out of a stock motor as I push as much out of my sti as was aloud so even though i don't have fact on these motors yet I like you pushing a big company to put some sort of facts on the table for us so we can learn..

And here it comes, bashing time on LMS for doing nothing more than giving giving the customer the tune that he wanted and following up with their perspective on the matter. So let's just cut to the chase and have an administrator step in and shut the thread down prematurely as two opposing views can only exist for eight consecutive posts in this forum.

I don't see any bashing I see spirited debate.

Carry on.

OK so it can make power but they lowered it at customer request that's good.   But I'm curious about the safe level drooping from 450 to 400 wheel horse power?  I would like to know the exact reason. Is it all 2013 thing or you wanna be a little safer side of things?

Obviously you have not followed the progression of these debates on other threads or do not have the ability to pull out the fact I was mocking the idea of closing down threads during debate.

I think it would be cool if a function could be built in similar to the old HKS scramble boost controller, or Ford's overboost function. I understand being conservative for longevity, but it might be a nice option to be able to override the base settiings for short periods of time.

IMHO that would be the best of both worlds.

In all fairness this can be difficult to discern with text based communication.

Wow...sensitive much?
I'm sorry no one is able to disagree with lms or even ask questions without offending you, but I for one would LOVE to know if pushing my motor over 450whp is actually more detrimental than we originally thought. Nothing negative has been said.

I'm not bashing you either SRT8, but honestly, what's wrong with asking for proof just like any of us would do for any other member making these claims?

Also, onlya6's original post doesn't sound to me like he asked to stay at just 400... Where did you get that from?
