Some progress at least!  In the meantime you can see if changing oil brands/filters/viscosities helps with the startup rattle at all.  Full synthetic seems to be called for.

Yep, that's how im looking at it. I'm going to change to a full synthetic this weekend and see if it helps. Thinking about trying out the new Pennzoil

I know people don't like oil additives but mos2 does work and is cheap around 6 dollars for a can. Do your own research. Plenty of threads on bitog to start your search if interested.

I'd have to look at it but I'm pretty sure it's not real synthetic...it's probably a group iii hydrocracked petroleum....not sure why this bugs me so much but I guess because it's a disservice to the true group IV /V synthetics such as amsoil redline and the top tier royal purple among others

I just pick up the Flex and it is the dirtiest i have ever seen it. Also i noticed it seems to be running rough at idle, i know i haven't driven it in a week but i don't think i use to feel shaking in the steering wheel like this before, only at idle

Take a quick look-see if all piping is connected and fluid levels are ok (not overfilled)?  Could be idle relearn, but don't know for sure.  Maybe put up a pic of the service order to see what work they actually did?

You did have the 2 bar+stock tune when you turned it in for service?

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

They tend to idle a little rough after a reflash or a kam reset...not sure why...I wouldn't worry about it...drive it a few times and see what it does

New turbo, at least there's that! I would hope they reset the adaptive learning after all that work. If not and you still find it idling and running weird you can follow this guys instructions on how to do it yourself. He is a ford tech.

i drove the car around last night for a few hours, didn't see any improvement, same thing this morning so i brought it back to the dealer. I can feel the roughness of the idle all through the car at idle in gear and with the AC on its worse. I was told that they removed the sub frame to change the rear turbo, i wonder if they didn't put the sub frame in the correct spot if it would make the car feel like this

No smoke out the exhaust though?

Damn. Just cannot win. Can you get someone to sit in the flex and hold it in gear with the ac running while you poke around and listen for any kind of vibration? Maybe take a rubber mallet and hit the sub frame a little.

I wonder if the sub frame uses one time use stretch bolts and if so if the tech didn't replace them so they aren't actually tightened to spec and this is transferring  or creating vibration.

Forgot to ask, does it happen in drive and reverse or just drive?

It vibrates in park but it gets worse when there is a load on the engine. Yes in drive and in reverse and when the AC compressor kicks on it get worse.
