New bulbs installed.  I can't tell if they fixed the flashing issue since the overhead lights aren't coming on with the fob or the door.  I tried holding down the dimmer switch but it didn't fix the issue.  Any other ideas?  Perhaps a fuse?  I replaced the "on demand" fuse #4 which didn't help.

Sounds like a fuse to me, I don't know of anyway to disable all the overhead lights in the car.

Did some more troubleshooting last night.  Here's what I know:

- The map and reading lights work if I click the button.
- The chime works when the door opens
- The fob will trigger the exterior lights (plate, puddle, and indicator lamps)
- The glove box, vanity, and trunk lights are functioning.
- Fuse #4 for the "on demand" function is good

So i'm thinking either a different fuse is bad or something in the dome light housing.  Is the dome light on two circuits?  One for the dome and the other for the reading lights?

Does anybody know how to remove the dome light altogether?  I remove the clear plastic to get to the bulbs, but how can i remove the black trim to check if the dome is functioning?

Welp...it's fixed!  I ordered a modified scan tool from an admin on taurusclub.com ($30) and downloaded some free software.  Turns out there was a Dtc on the body module that had to be cleared.  I'll follow up if they disable again.

Is the modified scan tool available to everyone, or was it a one-off, watts?  Sounds like a handy addition to the toolbox.

I think anyone can get one - I joined Taurusclub recently and only have a few posts.  He sent it without any questions.

If you're interested contact user "Sam" at taurusclub  $30 for the modified tool (basically a regular bluetooth OBD scanner with a switch to flip between the two can-bus modes).  All you need is a bluetooth enabled windows laptop and the free FORscan software.

It took me about 20 minutes total - 15 to get the darn laptop to connect to the bluetooth, and 5 to clear the codes.
