geswek I'm confused on how to install the resistors on the rear dome light.  Are there two or three resistors?  Connect from what to what?  I've been lazy and never installed the middle one but have some time coming up and want to complete this mod.  Thanks.

I got it working; found thread on some CobaltSS forum of someone with same issue and his resolution.

Ran over to Radioshack and grabbed this, and soldering iron (since mine is back in TX).

Threw it on like this to test; wahla--dang thing worked like it should!

The rest are basically how I added the additional resistor and soldered it. I noticed there was some kind of resistor but it was only on "one" lead; not across it like I did.

I was wondering though; could I not just take apart the assembly and put a resistor on each side of wire going to the stocket, or would that generate too much heat?

You need to add a single resistor; they come in like 3 or 5 pak.

You attach it to each side of wire coming off LED; going to have to break the bottom base off.

You could try buying CANBUS LED's and use those; they have resistors in order to not trip the bulb out (we don't have that feature in Ford).

I must have got these on accident since my led's worked the first try with no mods.

Question on the interior led mod.  I just finished installing along with the resistor in the dome center bulb.  I'm getting g a slight flash when the LEDs turn off after the doors close.  Normally the regular bulbs would dim in this situation.  Any way to get around this?  I'm comfortable with soldering if I need to add a resistor or something, I just front know where to start.

Thanks!

Slight flash? Huh?

What size resistor did you put in?

I've never heard of that issue unfortunately.

Yes...I'd compare it to flipping on a fluorescent bulb.  A little flicker then it's off.  I used two of the 1/8 amp 1k resistors.  Exactly what you pictured on the first page

Uhm; you only needed one? I didn't use two. All I need was that one to fix the lights from not turning off.

watts

Ok.  I'll try that.  It looked like 2 in your picture.  I'll report back in case someone else has the same issue.

AHH; no that other one is something else that came with my LED--pretty sure I said in instructions to only add 1 more resistor; I'll double check my writing.

Yeah that should fix it.

Took out the 2nd resistor.  Only running one now on the dome bulb.  I still have the flicker.  Could it be the bulbs I bought?

I'll check with the vendor if you're out of ideas.  Thanks for your help!

I replaced literall every interior light (except ambient) with this LED kit... no problems and completely plug and play. it comes blue, red, or white. and much brighter that OEM.  They even do the dim-to-off thing as they go out.  The 600K match the blue ambient lighting perfectly.

The car has "theater dimming" where it turns down the brightness in steps.  With incandescent bulbs it looks like a smooth fade to black but with LED's I can see mine take each step down.  You might be seeing a few of those steps.

When I replaced mine, I ended up with just a very slight illumination of the LEDs in the rear lights and the front map lights...it is just like in a movie theatre where the lights stay slightly lit.  Not one person has noticed it (except me) and I kinda like the effect.  But I never had a flicker from the LED bulbs.

Actually I don get a noticeable stepping down, just a gradual dimming, they go out completely, they don't flicker....at least in my early 2013...... makes you wonder if it's the lights or changing builds from Ford.

Again... no resistors need in my car for no compromise plug and paly

Hopefully this video will work - i recorded it on my phone.

Definitely doesn't step down - it's an actual flash.  I'm thinking i may try more resistors this weekend.  I seem to remember that when i replaced the map lights with the LEd's they didn't flash with the incandescent bulbs installed in the dome light location - that may indicate i need more resistance.  Each LED only has one diode on the bulbs i purchased, so i may have less resistance than the rest of you.
