Pot Holes

Well; just realized two of my Nurburgrings are road rashed pretty good; I'm certain it's the pot holes this season--have done my best to dodge them but some of them are just too big and too sneaky.

Thinking about either replacing two wheels or just having it all stripped and powder coated black matte.

TSS

They are 20s?  We have potholes here in MI.....guess I have been lucky.

Yeah; I've hit some pretty nasty pot holes--had no where to go to dodge them. Luckily I haven't cracked a wheel or busted a tyre yet.

Just looks like sidewalls flexed in and the tire burred edge of pot hole.

Yup   .... Potholes Suck .... I speak from WAY too much personal experience !

I'm just trying to decide what to do; two new hweels or just refinish and powdercoat. Should cost me about $500 to powdercoat the set.

A good wheel repair person could refinish the two for 200 - 250 with the rash like new or as a second choice if you just want a different NEW look just get them all Powdercoated .

I was thinking that same thing; but I'm afraid they may not find the color. I thought I read somewhere once on another forum that people couldn't figure out the Gunmetal color from TSW and they weren't releasing it. I don't want a wheel patched and it doesn't look right.

The damage isn't bad; it's just rashed and gouged in few placed. Luckily it's not cracked or bent; unless it's cracked and I can't see it through whatever it's painted in.

Lanson posted some instructions on repairing minor wheel damage somewhere here.  I just can't find it...Anyway, he's a "real deal" wheel guy.. maybe PM him if he doesn't chime in

In michigan it seems to be all about where you live, in Kalamazoo I was hitting them left and right, now living downtown Grand Rapids I'm having trouble finding any. But that's a good thing, I'm not complaining.

Thanks for the compliment, but my instructions only work on raw polished rim lips, which would typically be part of a 3 piece wheel.  These wheels we're speaking of here are cast or rotary forged one-piece wheels, which won't work.  :)

$700 bucks to replace two burgs.

otherwise I strip them and powdercoat them black.

Thoughts? Anyone got black Nurburgrings?
