FWIW change your Fluids and spark plugs at frequent intervals as SHOdded kindly mentioned ^^^^ for precautionary measures.  Z  :)

I SUSPECT that a lot of the transmission longevity for those who are pushing the envelope is due to increased severe duty maintenance regimen and tuning.

Back to the OPs point... the biggest advantage of the bigger turbos would be being able to hold the desired boost out through the higher RPMs where are little snails run out of breath... so your torque curve would be flatter and not taper off.. that alone would be worth the upgrade thinking about it...

11's only the stockers is doable but I wouldn't say reliably...

I also suspect that BPD has fund set aside for a new transmission in the event his blows up... Z probably does too... AFAIK Z has not yet taken his new get up to the track yet... I am very eager to know what he puts down :-)

I have considered the HPFP @ one point with marginal gains to be had,but would compensate the pressure fall off at high rpm, shifting, and extended wide open but not sure it's fully worth the price tag unless taking the E85 route and pump which will add up to another student loan. Z

I have extensively datalogged my fuel pressure with meth. If you are spraying meth then the only advantage of the HPFP would be if you are running E85. Even with bigger turbos the meth will compensate nicely. The only time you might run into issues is if you are pushing a lot of boost down low in the rpm range.

I was BIG in buying the HPFP but backed off once I got the meth. I can hold 20psi on the stock fuel system with E20 while spraying with the throttle wide open.

If you are going to run a highly modified engine with bigger turbos (BPD1151) then I can see the bigger HPFP being beneficial.

The torque converter upgrades actually LOST tenths, so that road led to nowhere.  No idea if anyone has done the ZIP kit on the 6F55, and thus if it made any difference.

clubsfit was last tuned by BCB, ran 100 octane gas at the track to get to the 11's.  Really do not know if a daily driver, other than bpd's, can really hit that power time after time and still carry on.

Brian, would be great to see your SHO a hair's width from the 11's!  Make sure you change plugs & fluids a few days before :D

Clubsfit run was an E mix with 100 octane and was BCB tuned. I asked him specifically if that was a streetable tune and he stated he has a different tune for street use. He also removed the spare tire and passenger seat to sneak under the 12 second mark.  He also sold that car damn near the next the day... which also seemed suspicious to me...

Removing s*** does not count in my book... I could hit 11's from my 12.4 if I take my interior out....wtf..

Eh, people do it all the time at the track... to be perfectly honest, if I am running 12.0 to 12.1 I would probably do the same thing. And Clubsfit didn't hide the fact that he did some weight reduction. His Dragtimes picture was his car with the seat and stuff sitting next to it lol.

I don't begrudge him that at all.

True! But it wasn't until someone pointed out that his seat was missing IIRC. Z

Pretty crazy that it was only on 100 octane, DPs, 170 tstat, lowering springs and a lightened interior.

It's just not a fair comparison to 99% of the people that are on here. I think it's cool that he did it, but doesn't deserve all the praise for hitting 11's

LOL,  You have the same sentiment i do :) .. I race with everything in the car,  including the childseats, floor mats etc.    I like to know and show what the car does in Daily Driver mode versus b-spec gutted.

if i had chucked everything out of my car last Friday i imagine 12.5x would have been possible instead of 12.6x .. but i like floormats,  and tires, and seats  :asshat:

That being said , next spring will be a fun-run. I will drop in 97-octane (and updated tune) to go with the pure meth and drop the tire, jacks, rugs and car seat in my quest for a 'printed' 12.3 .. (new goal).

My buddy John(91hybird) did it also on stock suspension too.  He had to play with the throttle some too during the run, but was all the car had.  Still wish Mike and Jacob could come to the east coast tracks, MIR, Capitol, Cecil, Island, Atco.  We could really see what there cars can do.  Yes Mikes is getting up there in mileage, so that will just have to wait till a new trans is in, that is on the back burner for now.  Todd's car with the new BC coilovers,( better Megans ), has a real good shot at going into the low 11's.

Yeah it would be cool, but not worth beating up the car.  Low 12's for us is awesome.  I mean for basically for bolt on stuff and for what we all have done, is just amazing.  Seriously I have always dreamed of having a car this fast and also being able to take trips and in real comfort.  We got the best of both worlds.

So we all should be proud!!!

With some of the recent tunes only cars going 12.4s I would think 11.9 with meth and down pipes is pretty obtainable.  Hell Yaklin almost did it with just downpipes, I bet he could have done it with more attempts.

With my E30/meth tune, which I regularly use as a DD, I can run consistent 12.2s, with a car seat in back and wheelspin off the line.  I purposely leave the car seat in when I race, because it's fun to point it out at the track, a family sedan with a car seat running low 12's.  I'm also using Firestone A/S tires (hey, I live in Minnesota).

I don't doubt that with better tires, low DA, good track prep and launch, I could break into the high 11's.  I actually think I'm spraying too much meth right now, looking at my STFTs.  I may dial it down a bit, see if that helps.  I will be back at the track in October, so fingers crossed.

It would also help if my fat ass lost some weight, but that's more difficult than the other mods.
