What I said was, that they are currently developing a tune specifically for you. If I told you the tune would be done tomorrow and it wasn't you would be equally as irritated.
I am NOT a tuner, I communicate between the customer and the tuning department, I have expressed your concern and displeasure in the current process, but they are working on it. While you may see that as an open ended time line, I am working here for you, to make sure you have the best experience possible. Immediately jumping on the forums and berating us doesn't solve that. The "Squeaky Wheel" tactic works to an extent. As of Saturday, as far as I know you were yet to receive the alky kit, yet you had called and called regarding the tune. I don't want to argue, I don't want to fight. I just want to get you handled.
I was/am a bit irritated... but as you can imagine, I purchased an $900+ Methanol Kit from LMS BASED on the POSITIVE reviews I have read about this kit and the SUPPORT from LMS. I did ask if I could go ahead and request the tune before I got the kit so that by the time I got the kit installed it should be ready? I was told that was a smart decision.
The kit came in on Monday and was finished installing last night which I why I called to inquiry about the Meth tune which I requested last week.
Now the frustration could have been miscommunication and/or expectation related, perhaps I incorrectly assumed that since there are several members on this forum who have the Meth tune from LMS, that it would not take long to get one put together for my SPWN/Strategy.
But when I hear statements of "Your current 4+X tune is the hottest we have..." and "We are working on getting you a meth tune but they are currently working on a dual nozzle tune so your may come at somepoint around then.." and "You can run the 4+X tune with Meth without additional tuning..." and "There is no meth tune for the 2010-2012 but there is for the 2013+..." and "There might have been a problem with the Meth tune for 2010-2012 MY.." I start to get frustrated as what I am hearing is that I have this $900 Meth kit just to cool the IAT's... which I could get for 1/3 price if that was my goal..
I had even emailed/called to verify that there is a meth tune before ordering, it can be done remotely without a dyno, and that I would be given simple instructions on how to configure the controller. Then to hear that there is no tune? You can image my frustration...
There are people on this forum looking to purchase the Alky Meth Kit from LMS who have the 2010-2012 MY SHO...and I know there are people on this forum who run the stage 5 tune on their 2010-2012 MY SHO... It might be beneficial for other people to understand the issues surrounding the kits.. such as no readily available tune...
If this is all just a miss communication and misunderstanding the I apologize for the rant ahead of time. I work in sales as well, and one of the BIGGEST things to get right is setting customer expectations. If these things had been communicated upfront before I placed my order, then perhaps I would not have been as disappointed or as you so aptly posted "A Sqeaky Wheel"..
FWIW: I emailed once requesting an updated tune.. and another email 5 days later asking on status.. followed by the FIRST phone call about the status of the tune later that day. I did call two additional times attempting to get a receipt or a tracking number which I eventually called Alky Control who provided me one without issue since it was shipped out the day I ordered it. Not quite sure how calling once concerning about the status of the tune is "Calling and calling"...
