Thinking about selling coyote and getting a SHO

Hello,

I've had my 2013 Grabber Blue GT for a couple years and it's my DD. We recently moved and I'm just racking up the miles on it, plus I think I'd prefer something more practical. Any advice on the SHO? I'd be in the 15-20k range for the SHO. if I do sell my coyote I'm looking for 22k.
2013 GB G
Long tubes, off road x, gt500 quads with valence.
Black '10 gt500 wheels 19.8.5 &19.10 concave in matte black. New front tires and fairly new nt05r in the rear. Ford racing p springs and gt500 Shocks and struts
GT500 spoiler, tinted window, JLT cai, gt500 lower grille, and mick Rousch tune. Also has Magnaflow resonators welded into the JPC ota pipes. 60k miles and will go up.
Black leather with the shaker stereo and the LCD performance option the the center of the speedo.

Thanks!

Nice Mustang!

We have had several people here go from or to SHO/Coyote.  Some here have both (AJP comes to mind).  I don't recall anyone having regrets going between the two vehicles.

My advice on getting a SHO is to shop for a '13+ because of the much better brakes and buy the cleanest/lowest mileage example you can afford.  Try to find a CPO car if at all possible because these are vehicles where a factory extended warranty is highly recommended due to just how many small things can go wrong that cost big money.  Extended warranties run around $2500 so it's generally a better deal to buy a CPO that includes the warranty.

In my search for a '13+ SHO I ended up finding the MKS Ecoboost.  It shares everything mechanically with a non-Performance Package SHO, plus has adjustable firmness struts and, IMO, a nicer interior.  Just more food for thought, this 3.5 EB driveline can also be had in the Flex or Explorer with little to no loss of straight line speed.

Thank you so much for the reply. I would definitely try to find a certified preowned. I know there are a lot of moving parts in that vehicle. I'm not 100% sure I'm going to do it. I'm just tossing the idea around at the moment. In a perfect world I can have both, but I only decent amount on what I have and would have to sell it paid off and then get my sho.  From a body style standpoint the Ford Taurus is my favorite. I'm not a fan of the 13 up wills, but those can easily be changed. I do however like the instrument cluster in the front facia and all the LED lighting. I feel like all I would need is wills and a little lower stance, plus a tune and I'll be done with it. That way the card be very straight double and ride like stock with a little more  Power on to the right foot. I do not take my coyote to the track, I feel like someone else can get better use from it. My ultimate plan is to get a SHO, then down the road build one of my favorite body style Mustang's which is the new edge. I would find a decent mileage GT automatic, build a motor and put a turbo on it and be done.

Welcome, Coop6, thats a tricked out ride!  The SHO is no Mustang, but makes for a great daily driver with just a tune.  Drive and compare to be sure this is what u want.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Thanks so much for the kind words. I definitely need to drive one before I go and sell my car. The hard part is finding one close by LOL. But I'm sure I can.

Just not a lot of them around.  I ended up in TN for mine.  Carmax and autotrader were where I was able to find the most.

I've noticed that quickly.  I like the rarity of the SHO. This would be my ideal set up on my budget.

13/14 SHO
02-04 GT Auto cammed with turbo. 400ish at the wheels on a diet would be sick!

The SHO is no Mustang...
Yup, pretty much what every Mustang driver I've encountered probably says as they're looking at Bronzie's big ass passing them up...

I don't think mine would be seeing too many SHO's tail lights ;)

But I do know than can surprise an unsuspecting mustang. I've got mine equipped with anti spin tires so I don't lose due to a smoke show.

I like your style!  I have a new edge GT (2002) and love it for a nice weekend car in the summer.

I was looking for a SHO but also ended up with an MKS, like someone else said.  From what I saw, an equal mileage MKS in similar condition was a few thousand less than the SHO.  I think the SHO looks better, but the Lincoln interior is outstanding.  Can't go wrong either way.

Good luck!!

I'll look into them but not as much of a fan of that body style. I'll be looking for one local to test drive. What would be the highest mileage one would buy??

I picked my MKS up with 50k miles on the clock.  I probably wouldn't get one much over 60k but really depends on your price range.

Nice thing about buying the MKS used...is you know it was babied because it was driven by someone over 60 years old.  No yongin buys an MKS brand new...lol.

That very true! I'd like to stay under 20k.

Would be nice to get one with under 20k miles.  Will probably cost into the low $30's from what I see online.

If you are a track kinda person, keep in mind that the SHO in stock trim cuts low 14's or very high 13's. This is a bit slower than your mustang, I would imagine, and the exhaust note is not as nice IMO. However, it is a much more luxurious ride, and still pretty quick.

I say go for it if you can find a nice deal. Around here there are plenty of used SHOs under 20K, some even under 10k (due to rebuilt title status). If you get once cheap enough you will have money for MODS!

Either way, I am sure you will enjoy whatever ride you choose.
