I fill up when I get to about half tank. Usually about 8 gallons or so. This last time I added 3 gal of E-85 and 6 of 93. There still could have been E-85 in there from my previous fill up. So the ratio could have been off?

After your first fill of E85 you're going to have to cut back on the ratio added. I've been mixing for almost a year now and find that a 17% E target works great, and would be something on the threshold of margin of error for the factory parts to handle.

I'll cut out the E-85 for now and do my next couple of fill up's with only 93. See if that DTC comes back.

When I am watching my LPFP and HPFP numbers, are there any ranges I should be looking for. Something normal?

Do you run torque?

I doubt the e-85 is your issue but knowing fuel trims and rail pressure would be helpful.

I've ran 70+% in both cars and no dtcs or cels. Pretty sure wass had same experience.

That being said that was for science, not daily driving because it will tax the s*** 💩 out of fuel ⛽.system headroom in certain parts of the rev range.

I wouldn't cut out the E85 completely but tone it down a bit.

And I agree with Rich, less is more and my new BBG seems to like 20ish. (with a splash of meth😉 ) this also puts you in the range of plausible deniability if something were to happen since e-15 is ok on our cars. If they tested and you had 40-50, they might take issue with that.

You can run 30 all day long but you will see some Kr spikes due to fuel volume.

I'd like to see your fuel trims and rail pressure....wot2-3 and wot 3-2, which is where the fuel volume issues like to creep up.

What are you short and Lon term fuel trims?

Any KR activity, how often and how big are the spikes?

WickedSHO

I honestly don't think I am monitoring short and long term fuel trims.

As for KR's.....While tuned I have seen as high as +2.0 and as low as -2.0. Nothing outside that range. I usually only get positive KR in a WOT run, but never higher than +2.0.

Are you using Torque? If so what formula are you using for knock? I would expect -4's on a regular basis with that much e-85...just wondering if you had the "old" formula which mistakingly showed half the knock you really had.

Never mind...I see you run Torque.

I might be using an old formula for KR..Is there a revised one?

Well its been out for long time but depends on when you started. Go to the data logging forum and click on the stickied PID at the top (Torque PIDs take 2) and double check.

Nice catch, and you're right, he should be seeing more advance, especially with that much corn. Blowing on the gas pedal should get a -4, lol...

WickedSHO

Dropped the car off at the dealer this morning to get my hub issues corrected.

Will update my KR formula when I get the car back and see what I get under WOT.

If the formula is correct, what could cause me to not see the -4's?

If all is working correctly, better combustion, more available timing would allow you to see more negative KR numbers.  If there are issues with spark or fuel delivery, then that would mean the PCM has to pullback from the edge, become more conservative, leading to a trend towards zero or even positive KR.

So I guess it was not the hubs gone bad on my car, but a washer on the half shaft. They replaced the right one several months ago.

I will check the formula in Torque for KR and give it a try when I get the car back.
