Brother-in-law and I took our SHOs to the drag-strip yesterday afternoon. I own the white 2013 NON-PP with LMS V8 tune, 3-bar sensor and K&N drop-in filter. He owns the black 2014 PP with LMS V8 tune, 3-bar sensor, Air-raid intake and downpipes. Both cars ran as consistent as can be. The ambient temperature was about 58F degrees the entire time we were at the track. We ran three times each with two of the times lining up against one another.

The two slips listed below are the best times we could muster. I should also mention the track we were at (Great Lakes Dragaway) is a track that is notorious for being a dragstrip hard to obtain great times due to poor track prep. We're both convinced that if we were at another track, both of our times would be improved by at least .2 seconds.

My best run was a 13.063 at 105.91 mph (60' ft. = 1.903)
His best run was a 12.817 at 108.34 mph (60' ft. = 1.872)

...my downpipes have already been ordered and are scheduled for delivery this upcoming Thursday  :thumb:

On a sidenote; There were two 2015 Challenger Hellcats at the track as well...both were running 13s. (no traction)

It was a perfect day to race. I'm a little disappointed I couldn't dip into the high 12s, but I had a great time regardless. Like I said in my first post, we truly believe that at almost any other track, our times would have been slightly better (I just wanted the proof in print!) We were both spinning pretty hard out of the box. Hopefully with the addition of the PPE downpipes, I can get into the 12s.

We were getting approached by a lot of folks who never realized how nasty these SHOs are or could be. We were probably putting down some of the best and most consistent times as well. We'll do it again as soon as I get my downpipes installed.

As far as the PP vs NON-PP argument goes. When we both had JUST the LMS V8 tune and racing on the STREET. My bro-in-law was consistently 3/4 to 1 car length a head of me each and every time. On the TRACK that gap was a little closer. It wasn't until the end of the race that he squeeked me out...it was probably his downpipes that made the difference.

Solid runs by you guys. Man you were so close at checking into the 12 second club.

Are you adjusting the tire pressure for track day?

Oh....love those wide angle shots!

I did not adjust the tire pressure, but I will next time. The iPhone 6 actually takes some really nice photos. It has a panoramic option that's pretty cool.

Definitely drop the psi. I had great success yesterday with 26 in the front and 27 rear.

I noticed on a few launches that you really have to be quick off the brake pedal or it hurts the 60' alot. Having to push the brake pedal so far down to obtain a high launch rpm this is a big move for the left foot.
