It think it is well established that the PTU overheats quite easily, seeing as it has only a dollop of gear oil in it, and it does so, not with tracking, but simply spirited street driving. Do you accelerate heavily from a stop? I'm sure most of us do. And that's all it takes. The aux cooler will certainly stave off overheating of the oil, even on the street.
Aux cooling, plus frequent oil changes and I think that peace of mind is worthy of PP premium expense.
Let's not forget, there's aux oil and trans coolers as well on the PP SHO.
And again, when wanting to juice a little more fun out of my car, it's nice to not have overbearing traction nannies. I can't even hammer it out of a turn with them on, because they'll ruin the experience.
And perhaps you're right, becasue my SHO currently isn't a DD.
