I'm considering getting them and want to know if anyone has done the same and if so how much louder.  Catless.

Maybe just a slight and i mean slight rasp at high rpm at wot.....a slight growl at idle but no drone and most are surprised to hear i have no cats....but i have the stock resonator and 3rd cat and mufflers

I would like a little more noise actually but i did not like my cat back

Something to think about....if you look at BigMac's dyno the power difference between catted and non was pretty negligible imho.

What was interesting was that catted made more power earlier than non catted.

Yeah but id say thats just splitting hairs...the ecu is targeting a certain torque so it couldve been just making adjustments on the fly for conditions...hopefully i can get an updated dyno soon...you want power sooner, then you just need to command it

Im bringing on 15 psi by 2300 rpm ...u could do more psi at lower rpm but i dont want to

I wish some of you guys would log low rpm wot...because i can tell that you guys are not getting much boost over stock and thats a waste of these turbos

I had the first set of PPE DPs. Mike and PPE used my car for development. We found ceramic coating made no difference (I got ceramic for aesthetics and to match my hotpipes). All the following was done on stock tune in my '13 SHO. We found overall power increases of 12AWHP with catted and 17AWHP with non-catted.... All dynos same day. 3 pulls for each set of DPs. There was equivalent TQ increases on both sets. The earlier onset of usable power was the thing that made them fun. For what ever reason the powerband really started at 2100rpm or so OEM ...and more like 1600rpm on both the catted and non-catted PPE DPs. Both LMS and Unleashed have tune mods for the DPs, maybe others too, but the point is that you can expect a little more low end and overal power increase than I state above with a tune. I have not dynoed testing this mod alone since tuned.

I do not notice any change in noise driving, but the exhaust note is a little more authoritative idling... It will not sound like a V8. I get just a hint of drone at idle after warmed up and the idle drops to 600 or so (almost inaudible even with the radio off), but it disappears as soon as I add any throttle  ...none anywhere else. So essentially no drone.

I chose catted because of living in an emissions state and with the Magnaflow high flow cats you pass visual inspection due to the CARB number on them. If you are not into self tuning: the catted also will not set a CEL. Most of the tuners are turning off the downstream O2 sensor (on the DP) with non-catted DPs to prevent the CEL, which will come back every time a driving cycle is done even if cleared..... If this sensor is off, at least in AZ, when the emissions guys plug in to the OBD it tells them the emissions (O2 sensor) is not working and you fail the readiness... I went catted so I don't have to changes DPs back to OEM for that. My dealer has no problems with them... Just complimented the appearance and workmanship... They look at them every oil change since I have 7 yrs prepaid factory maintenance as part of the purchase of the car.

Pick your brand... But do it... The factory DPs are incredibly convoluted, have flat sides and are clearly more restrictive. I am still running stock exhaust including 3rd cat other than this.

I have PPE Catless DPs only. the rest of the exhaust is bone stock. She's got a nice little growl at idle, past that... sounds like stock.  You can hear the turbos whistle around 1800-2100 rpm pretty good under a load as well.

never had any rasp issues, no drone, and NEVER too loud.

Well they're not my ONLY mod but they're the only non-stock portion of the exhaust system. Car is quiet as hell now, as others have mentioned, some occasional turbo whoosh as noted above, but otherwise nothing.

Can't compare directly because I had one cat back installed concurrently with downpipes and then switched to another before going back to stock exhaust, but I don't think anyone who's unfamiliar with the platform would even suspect you're not stock.

Leadfoot

I have PPE catted pipes with a hollowed out 3rd cat as the pseudo Xpipe. it's slightly louder than stock with no drone, sounds good.

I put mine on last week and honestly can't tell any difference in feel or anything in the logs that point to them doing squat.

They also induced drone at 2500 RPM which is a no-go for me.

Also the O2 wire is in an unacceptable position.

Wow!  That O2 sensor location is not good!

Is the rest of your exhaust stock?

My PPE catted DP's just shipped.  I hope they have altered the O2 sensor location since yours were made.

Yup, stock after the DP's.

Do you have that cooler there?

Mine is PP and I think that is the issue.

Good point. I may not.  Is that part of the oil cooler system?

Do you have a pic of the stock setup, FoMoCo?  Could be the bung is too tall, or the pipes too big, or the angle is slightly off ...

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!
