Brake boosting

I am tuned by Torrie, I am VTA and was expecting to hear the the BOV's if I brake boost and then let off the throttle but I do not. If I rev the ending I hear them. I know the ability to build boost while on the brake is something that is set in the tune and assumed it was with all Unleashed tunes. Does this mean its not setup in this way? When I rev and they go off I have to get the RPM's up to 4K or more, but brake boosting I obviously stay at about 2k.

Thanks,
Scott

Besides trans settings, I don't think he messes with part throttle.

So the ability to build boost while on the brake is not something he does without requesting it?

Do you have it floored when on the brake?

Rhetorical question. I had assumed when people were braking off the line and holding the RPM's at about 2k they were building boost. Is this not the case?

I'm pretty sure the stock tune is set up for brake boosting and at the same time sends power to the rear diff.

I'm pretty sure I'm building boost cause at 2500RPM the brakes can no longer hold the car.

But if you are not deep enough into the pedal then you wont be commanding that much torque....i never really go more than about 25% throttle when i brake boost...i dont like doing it to the car

Yeah maybe I am just being a puss about it and not giving it enough throttle. Anyways, I could also stop being lazy and just plug in my BT OBD and torque to see what is happening. BTW the VTA is fun, louder than I had thought it would be. Maybe now I can instigate some action in the MKS.

I noticed with my car, the BOV would not vent until I installed my Catless DPs. Now can do it at any time I want it feels like!

Although some of the guys do seem to build boost while brake torquing, I have never been able to build much, if any at all.   I don't like putting that much strain on components.  I use an Aeroforce gauge to monitor boost, among other things.   Here is a video where I brake boosted to a little over 2000.  If I recall, the gauge was showing hardly any boost until I floored it.

Great info, thanks for sharing Bruce! And to the other poster, no DP's here and my BOV's are always making noise, just a bit on the throttle and let of and i hear them. Of course they get much louder when I really get in it and snap the throttle shut.

Dang it, AJ, I was expecting an insult or wisecrack from you!   You disappointed me, man!   Not only have I learned a few things from your posts but I also laugh out loud at some of your comments.   :)
