Rear View Mirror wire harness to mount Radar Detector

Hello,
I have been trying to find a wiring diagram for my 2013 SHO with out much luck. I just bought a rear view mirror mount for my V1 radar detector and am trying to figure out where to wire this thing. Looks like I found some constant on power wires but I am looking for an accessory power wire that is only on when the car is on. I am wondering if anyone else may have some ideas as the rear view mirror isn't the only thing there, also there is a camera for the rain sensors/adaptive cruise etc.

I wanted to know this as well when I got my Passport 9500ix. Mine is mounted on the rear view mirror as well. I ended up getting the hard wire kit. Ran the line at the edge of the headliner where it meets the windshield, there is a little gap where you can tuck it in, then down the pillar, down some weather stripping and into the fuse box, I put it in the same fuse slot that my subwoofer amp signal wire goes to, only turns on when he car is "on" or running

I ran a separate wire. Didn't want to splice into the mirror wires.

Man! I was hoping it was going to be easier, I didn't really want to take more parts off then i had to. How hard was it to run that wire from headliner to fuse box?

Child's play easy. Just remove the kick pannel and pull the weather stripping off so you can run the wire down the side.

I know most on here are the DYI type, as am I, but when it comes to some of the electrical stuff I tend to shy away.  I researched radar detector installation, up pops Best Buy.  I give them a shout, turns out they do this install for about 30 bucks with the option to uninstall it at a later date for no charge.  Bought a rear view mount for my Redline, took it to best buy.  They installed it, and the separate button that mutes it, in like 4 hours.  The button is mounted right above my right knee.  Its been a great setup, and I didn't have the headache of figuring it out or making a mistake.  Best thing about the button, when I get false signals I just reach down and silence it.

I popped the center ceiling light/sunroof control out and wired my dashcam and radar detector into the 12V+ key/accessory wire for the sunroof controls using blue easysplice(can be removed easy).

Thats interesting, do you have any pics you can share?

I'm taking a road trip this summer, and the sec I leave VA I'm throwing a radar detector up.  A dash cam is something I plan to install in the future, and kill two birds with a similar install is a good idea.

Side question. With almost all cops using laser do the radar detectors even really work? And with the detector perminantly mounted in the car when you get pulled over they are going to give you the max fine for sure.

Well, for laser, you have to be in direct line of sight, so if they see you, you can see them, if you do want laser protection, you can get the escort laser shifters and a couple other companies make them. In my area at least, the police usually run the radar simultaneously with laser. In the event you do get pulled over, just take it down and put it under the seat

With Laser, unless you get a jammer, you're toast.  I only speed in areas of decent traffic (so it can detect radar use up ahead) and areas I am familiar with.  When I say speed, I'm talking no more than 15 or 20 over.  I have been saved 3 times in the 18 months I've had my detector, but would have been speeding without it?  probably not.  I think if used wisely and in heavy traffic it works, if not, save your money.  Cops use that deadly instant on KA band, brutal.

Smart cops do instant on and you're screwed if you don't see them first.  I have a V1 hard wired into fuse box and I've got a couple tickets with it.  But it's saved me a ton of times.  I get a ticket about every 3-5 years, so it's worth it to me.  I can't drive 55!

I guess your best bet will be to stay in the middle lane and of course with no front plate will give you a slimmer chance of getting pulled over, last time i was pulled over asked them if they can extend some courtesy and they apologized a few times for the trouble. Z

I love how the Colorado natives drive. On my way to Cañon City there were times people were doing triple digits...  and it was everyone lol.

As long as the cop is running his radar I usually pick it up in time to be legal.
