Cheap solution to laser: laser veil and blacked out chrome

Go on.....

Laser veil is this paint like stuff that you apply to your headlights and other shiny, reflective parts on the front of your car, including front license plate if you have one. Police are trained to aim at headlights or a front plate to get the reading. Laser veil doesn't reflect the laser, no reflection, no speed reading. You can usually find it for around $50-70 a can

I popped the center ceiling light/sunroof control out and wired my dashcam and radar detector into the 12V+ key/accessory wire for the sunroof controls using blue easysplice(can be removed easy).
Is that an always on 12V+ or is it only on when the car is on?

Side question. With almost all cops using laser do the radar detectors even really work? And with the detector perminantly mounted in the car when you get pulled over they are going to give you the max fine for sure.

I will post pics when my car gets back from the stealership..

My local PD uses both. The cars will have mounted radar inside and then they also have handheld laser. So it really sucks either way.

Sorry to bring this post from being dead but would you happen to remember color of said wire?

im looking into getting a rear view mirror mount for my 13 mks eb . Sounds like tapping into anything under the plastic cover where the rain sensor is might be a pain . I guess i could try running it headliner to a pilar to fuse box .

Apologize for the LATE late bump/reply.. As far as people wanting to know what wires, I believe it was a grey/purple or purple wire in the center sunroof console.

Unfortunately after invoking lemon law on my 2014 SHO and attempting to hardwire again in my 2016 SHO, i couldn't find an adequate 12V keyed source on that harness. :bangin:

Edit: Found that the purple wire(keyed 12V) connected to the camera worked for me.
