Hey Guys,
I was hoping that one of you may have had experience with this product or can recommend a product(s) that you have used with good results. I read the post on the Seafoam through the vacuum line, and I'm not crazy about doing it that way. I want to give it a good cleaning but my service tech mentioned that the sensors are very sensitive and you get the idea. I have used this in the past with good results. Sea-foam spray, however it says not to use on mass-airflow sensors. With all the sensors in the ecoboost intake that has given me cause for concern. I could use CRC sensorklean for the sensors, just to be safe. But that doesn't help me on the intake and heads. I know that there is a 3M kit that others have used in their EB's but I can't seem to locate in Canada. Once I get her all cleaned up I will change the plugs.

Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks

Unfortunately Oil Blow by is " normal " in the EB engines and is discussed at length with a solution to fix this .

The RX crankcase evacuation system is available in kit form to fix this issue .

Tracy   (TunerBoost) at Rev Xtreme has a thread about this .

Having a film of oil in the Intercooler Tubing and TB is very common .

Intake and injector cleaning is covered here .

SwampRat, ya I am aware of that fact. This was a bit more than blow by, like 50K of blow by all at once (it was like a over a liter too full, I will be checking that after every oil change now). The good news is that I caught it early. But I will be looking at your link and probably doing something like a catch can idea in mine.

I read the post on the Seafoam through the vacuum line, and I'm not crazy about doing it that way. Here is my thing, on my last service it seems that they overfilled the oil in my SHO. I noticed last night that there was some oil in the throttle body and the tubes to and from the intercooler. I had the oil changed and not it's at the proper level. I want to give it a good cleaning but my service tech mentioned that the sensors are very sensitive and you get the idea. I have used this in the past with good results. Rx performance recommended sea foam... The SHO has no Mass Air Sensor.. only MAP will be exposed before combustion.
IMHO..... If your car has a bunch of miles... like 25K or more consider BG service.  If you want to keep it clean consider RX catchcn and Cleanside Separator.... Tracy's explanations on the EBPF.

Thanks Guys for the quick responses, I will do the BG service, thanks to SwampRat's link I found a ford dealer that offers the service close to me. I didn't even know that it was available close by. No one really advertises it. In the short term before I do that what about on the hoses and the intercoller? I was thinking using a little of Sensorkleen. Any suggestions?

Hold up, I didn't realize our cars have a OEM catch-can? I am guessing it doesn't work very well if we are still getting oil in the intake?

Joke right?...OEM catch can is called the 3.5TT EB engine in our cars... all the EGR and CC blowby is returned to the pre turbo intake tubing.

That's what I thought! So what is this guy talking about?

IDK  :dunno:
Couldn't tell from the thread... If The EcoBoost is still around (post was 12/2011) over there maybe you or someone here  could find him and/or clarify.... ?maybe they meant "dealer" installed?

That looks like the PCV valve, draining back into the intake.

This is the item that he is referring to (his pic circled), according to him it's a separator on the rear valve cover and it drains back to the head. I am in agreement with you as I have found out for myself that whatever is going on doesn't work well at all. I'm just curious if that is how the OEM PVC system is supposed to work?

PVC systems are the emissions-friendly way of dealing with vapors from the crankcase.  In older vehicles, you would either leave an open tube or put a breather filter on where the PCV valve is today.  I don't know if any significant effort was made to improve PCV function for the EB engines, but I suspect not.

I really like the RX system, my local speed shop recommended this

http://www.moroso.com/eb/catalog/search/advancedsearch.action?mustOccur=true&resetOffset=true&appn=&can=&modelFilter=&yearFilter=&pr=&searchTerm=85474

Anyone have an thoughts on it?

The Moroso, and the 30 some that are the same design allow as much or more to pass right through due to the design so even though you see it catch oil/gunk, as much or more is still being ingested. Watch their video. As the oil begins to saturate it drips down the right side of the container (the inlet side in the videos) at low vacuum, and then at high vacuum is pulled to the left side and some is pulled right up and out the outlet.  You actually want to stop ALL this gunk, and only a few cans on the market do that.  Then look at the capacity. It is app. 1.5 oz capacity....the videos of what the RX can catches in one week is 4-6 ozs, and the RX standard can is 12 oz's capacity, and the Monster can is over 20 oz's. So as soon as the tiny can is caught even some, it is near capacity and pulling all right through. Try this experiment. Take a wet wash cloth and put to your mouth, now suck on it. What happens? Water is sucked right out. The cans wit the 2 small chambers with media in them have no designated inlet or outlet, so the side used as the outlet has oil saturated in the media right tight on the outlet. It sucks many times the amount you can with your mouth, so what good is a unit that only catches a portion of this gunk?  Put the RX can inline AFTER any of these cans, and the RX catches as much or more than the first can that is supposed to catch it all.

Very few cans on the market actual come close to catching all, and the RX system is the ONLY one on the market that corrects the PCV flaw the EB has allowing all this to accumulate in the crankcase. 80% of the time the EB is closed and no evacuation takes place allowing the harmful compounds to condense and accumulate. The RX system provides constant evacuation at all times eliminating all this to begin with.

It is critical to remove these byproducts as soon as they enter the crankcase before they can accumulate and mix with the engine oil:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPIfI9aZHt4

Since the EB only evacuates at idle and low throttle, it is a very flawed system. No other system corrects this issue but the RX system that is why it cures all the following:

Unburnt fuel in the oil.

Water and gunk accumulation in large amounts in the CAC

Misfires and "shudder" d to water ingestion under WOT

Water contamination in the engine oil

Intake valve coking due to the ingested vapors

And more.

A can alone cannot fix the issues, and a can that allows as much of the gunk to pass through as it catches is only a "placebo" as most see oil caught, but are not aware of what gets pulled through these cans.

Ask any more questions before making a $$ mistake.
