I guess FMC's next move is to shut down every performance oriented Website  or Magazine that has Ford  or Mustang  or SHO or Taurus or whatever in it .

Yes " Legally " they have right to do so but this kills the  " Image "   of the brand for many performance oriented fans , owners and future BUYERS .
They should be far more concerned about the  the phrase "
the Customer is always right " .

This wesite would not even exist if the product was not worthy of purchase .

Yes it does suck...but do a little research into trademark law. Ford HAS to defend its copyright or it loses it. Period...so if they have ecoboost copyrighted (and you know they do) they have to make this site change.

Hopefully they will be friendly and do a re-direct for awhile...this site has nothing but good things about the platform.

My request for domain is....ECOBOOBIE instead of Ecoboost.  Do it!  Who likes it...?

Unfortunately not the first time I've seen this happen.  Americanmuscle.com used to be mustangmuscle or something like that.  Ford made them change it.  Kocky products used to make really cool shirts catering mainly to the Ford crowd, Terminator, Lightnings, mach 1's.  Ford stepped in and wanted them to pay royalties shutting them down.  I have a lot of their shirts and even an unworn Lightning shirt.  You'd think Ford would want to partner with some of the more effective websites instead of forcing them to change their names.  I know they must participate in SVTP, as those guys are always getting new Fords or going to some type of event.  How is svtperformance any different than ecoboostperformace, unless Ford is participating?

So short sighted on Ford's part.  Trust me, I get the copyright stuff.  Thing is Ford has no alternative out there in terms of a forum we are competing with.  All the Ford sponsored sites (like my MKS forum) are virtual ghost towns.  No admin/moderator/owner involvement.  Just using up a good domain name.  In my opinion they are worried about usual forum drama/antics, immature behavior,  and posting of dangerous acts that they don't want Ford to be associated with or misconstrued as running the site.  Better solution, read this forum and see that everybody is kept in check, then become involved in the forum with Mike to continue to ensure it is run to their standards.  Too much work? I guess, but that ignores the massive base of new potential purchasers who find this site and get turned on to the Ecoboost line.  Short sighted......

I believe that Ford is understandably correct in saying Mike's store must change its name .

The user forum is another story , the Ecoboost name is copywrited but could be used with Fords permission and an associated disclaimer .......  Not  affiliated with FMC'S and the usual ya da ya da b.s legal ez.

Another sad part about all of this is that the  FMC employees on THIS forum can't speak out openly about this here for fear of reprisal.
