Funny that you mention that actually....

That was definitely a thought that crossed my mind after completing the install, and looking at the entire package overall.

Although admittedly I spent so much money and dealt with so much headache trying to get that engine cover completed as to the way it looks right now, that I'm almost not wanting to leave it off.

Therefore I will trim what little edging I need to,  in order to get it to fit properly. Then I will reinstall it. The edge that I am thinking about trimming off, will allow more view of the hard pipes installed today.

So from my perspective, kind of a win win all the way around.

Either way you decide the piping looks REALLY good... I like that custom CAI too.  Personally I lean toward the engine cover refitted to carry the theme.

Hey TaurusBuilder, any chance you can video that Tial BOV in action for sound purposes?

I'm struggling here on if I should keep the factory BOV's or go with the Tial.

Thanks in advance.

When time (& weather) permits, I will attempt to capture one as well.

Preliminary observations, with the little seat time I have had, makes me glad I retained the factory BOV's.

Plenty of "whoosh" noise readily apparent. Thanks to 4DR & PPE, for having the foresight to have both VTA

Some time down the road, I would like to get a custom clear Lexan piece cut into my engine hood, & then illimuniate the entire engine bay with LED's.

Very similar to my friend who owns Shockwave Customs & his heavily modified, multiple award winning Z06 'Vette.

All in due time. Mod money is sometimes difficult to come by in relation to actual financial obligations.

Well, took the time today to give my baby a much needed bath, including a complete under-carriage bath and removal of the tires/wheels to clean up the suspension as well. Washed the entire engine bay, and then did a three layer wax job using a cleaning/rubbing compound, then 2 layers of wax after that.

I also was able to pick up my engine cover yesterday from the body shop, which had to be modded yet again. Due to the hot pipe install, the flanges were/are a lil longer than anticipated versus the stock setup. this caused me to have the boys trim down the vertical edge along the driver's side of the engine cover.

Turned out really nice actually, and fits like a glove. I'm impressed they were able to do as well as they did. Finished off the install with some brand new chrome caps over the Oil, Methanol (OEM washer fluid tank) and the Coolant Cap(s).

Also had my local sign guys do up some new vinyl lettering in factory yellow on the Oil and Methanol Cap(s).

Here's a few pics of how the engine bay appears now, as of 01/25/14:

Productive, 11.5hrs on the SHO today. But man she needed it. I'm dreading the forecasted -23 degrees actual temperature slated here for Monday night. Then a whopping -9 degrees overnight Tuesday. Sure has been a tough Winter here in "Chi-Beria" to keep the SHO in tip top shape. Makes me almost wanna get a beater to motor around in.

:hmmm: *sigh* :hmmm:

Looks AWESOME Mike! ...and great pics  :notworthy:  It really carries your SHO's scheme solidly into the engine compartment.  :yeah: That white PC looks fantastic especially added to the CAI tubing!  :thumb:

Thanks guys..... all pieces of a puzzle. Slowly but surely coming together, bit by bit.

I'm excited for my dyno appt. at LMS scheduled for Monday & Tuesday, Feb 24th / 25th. Oughta be a blast.

Next project I've got to finalize is my new 4'x8' vinyl mod display banner. I was hoping for an email form the sign shop with the final layout pending my approval, but it hasn't arrived yet. I'll hammer on them next week for sure.
