Hey guys,
I have an oil change and general service scheduled for this weekend.
I'm going to set my truck back to stock tune. I spoke to service manager and said I had a tune and various other upgrades and just want to find a service location that will work with me and not try to void warranty as first option if any problems arise.
They said no problem, they will do the best to work with me within the Ford guidelines..
With that said... I have a few questions...

1. When setting back to stock, do I have disconnect battery afterwards for a few minutes?

2. If the dealer does any updates to the computer, does that have any impact when going back to my perform tune?

3. If there is an update and I load my perform tune. Do I need an updated stock tune from LMS?

Thx guys

1. No, always go stock before going to dealer, they like to update the ecu without asking which locks your tuner and causes major issues.
2. Possibly, if they change your strategy.
3. No

I am lucky, my dealership works well with me and they love the mods on the car. When I bought Mustang and was modding the crap out it I never put it back to stock, could not with the blower on it. I always asked them to never reflash my strategy code and if they had to, to please tell me the new one so I could get it to my tuner to update the xcal I was using for that car. I never once had them try to deny a warranty claim on the car. But then again I never tried to get them to replace the rear end, transmission, motor, axles, etc. when I broke them. I new that was on me but all the other stuff, electronic and all was no problem with them.

I'm in the same boat.  I was upfront with service director and he said not to worry about it. I am prepared to pay for any damage I cause that they can't pass along on warranty..
And they seam cool with it .. I'm friendly with owner of dealership too, but I don't want to play that card unless I have a real problem..

If they change the strategy code, which is likely if they do any ECM updates, you willl need to pull it like you did the first time and send it off to your tuner to update the tunes with new strategy code.

Best to write down your strategy code now, and upon picking up check and confirm strategy hasn't changed.

Same boat, my dealer is aware the car was tuned and really all the service manager asked is if he could drive it, to compare with a stock car.  He told me if they are planning on doing any updates he will let me know when I schedule the appointment so I can take the car back to stock.  So far I haven't had any updates and no problems with the dealer.
