My new ride to replace the Flex

I tried working with the dealer to get a Tremor but in the end there's no discount from the local dealers on a Tremor so it looks like I'm going to have to wait on that one for awhile so I decided to get something a little different and pretty fun. The tremor also doesn't work if for some reason I have to pick up my kids and it's the only vehicle available.

The plan now is to find a 2010/2011 SHO for around $20K that I can trade the kids car in on to use for dev work still. I'll wait for a year or so and pick up a Tremor or possibly whatever the 2015 is. I also want to see the platform develop some more, in the mean time I'll keep providing the products I've developed, turbos etc for you guys and continue to be a resource daily.

I'm also going to start working on a twin turbo kit for the CTS-V and Pro-EFI kit as well with the guy who has helped me build the Flex. I'm looking forward to running some 11's in the CTS-V and then converting to E85 very quickly and running some 10's.

I AM NOT abandoning you guys and I am going nowhere, I still have my truck to use for truck dev work as well.

Congrats on the new V, Mike!  Hopefully you can come out with a sub $20,000 kit, which is what Hennessey was selling the 700 hp upgrade kit (w reworked heads) for at one time (saw it on Leno's Garage) :)
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Great choice with the CTS-V. I almost talked myself into getting the wagon, but just could not concede to running RWD living in the Northeast.

Really nice ride!  ... and I love black cars, especially screamin' fast ones.

I almost bought a 2012 CTS V when I was looking and picked up my '13 SHO, but the price point of the V was a little high with all the dealers here didn't seem to want to negotiate much.... and honestly, there were a few things for a car that I also had to use as a DD; first, I had to crawl in, not like a vette (I drove  C6 and C7), but still a bit of work for an old man like me and I liked the SHO back seat as well for all my ancient compadres, second, I couldn't find one in a color I wanted that had the Recaros and I found the stock seats a bit firm as well as lacking thigh support as well as bolstering, third all three of the V cars I drove had a lot of road (tire) noise from the rear wheels wells above 40-45 mph... (I think a few pounds of Dynamat or a better seal for the fold-down rear seat might have fixed this) and, finally, (remember I'm a old computer nerd) I preferred the revised FoMoCo sync system operation and extensive LED implementation. So I told myself I'd use the $30k I saved to do the mods.

That being said, a beautiful car that accelerated like a go-cart with a V8 was a big draw for me and the decision was hard.  I know you'll love it.  Glad your not letting this great forum go.  I have learned a lot here!  I'm looking forward to seeing your mods develop. I was interested in the Hennessy kit like SHOdded. Imagine your CTS-V with 1200hp!

Twin turbo kit is already in talks, I'm hoping to develop a bolt in kit for around $10K with fuel upgrades.

GM!?!  You have turned to the dark side. I am sad to see you leaving the ford family but happy to hear you're not leaving us completely. I have been on your website and your prices are very competitive. I fully intend on purchasing my performance upgrades for my SHO from you when I get the funds. Thanks for all your hard work done on the ecoboost platform, and return to the light side of the force quickly.

Very nice ride indeed. I am like SRT8, up here, I need AWD. Too frustrating to spin all the time. Now with my modded SHO, I have yet to lose a race at a red light. 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds, time after time can't be beaten by any stock car out there regardless of their power. Only GTR IF they use launch control or 911 Turbo or Lambo Aventador...

Mercedes AMG now are available apparently with 4matic... very interesting, but more than twice the price of a SHO... Maybe in a couple years, a used 2014?

I love the CTS-V, been one of my favorite since their most recent version!

Good for you and happy to see you will still be on this forum.

I'm talking to Pro-EFI already about a 128 that includes traction control that works AWESOME or D3 which also has a kit. Here in AZ it's not quite so bad, thank goodness. :)

I'm also going to start working on a twin turbo kit for the CTS-V and Pro-EFI kit as well with the guy who has helped me build the Flex. I'm looking forward to running some 11's in the CTS-V and then converting to E85 very quickly and running some 10's.

I assume this means you are pulling the Supercharger and then adding the twin turbos.

Wouldn't it just be easier and exponentially cheaper to reduce the pulley size on the supercharger and up the boost?  As I mentioned on the phone, tranny could be an issue, though CTS-V has the heavier duty truck tranny.  How about axles?  I had hopping with my G8 and installed G-force HD axles which are different diameters.  Would guess rear ends can be switched with Camaro, but may be wrong on that.

Which tuning options  are you considering?  HP Pro Tuners?

Yes, supercharger will come off.
I'll rebuild the tranny if needed :)
I'll figure out the axles if they break.
Car already has long tubes and pulleys. The immediate plans are injectors, BAP and E85. I'll address everything else as I come to it....
Tuning will be handled by a local god of GM tuning Nic D.

Squash can help you with your fuel system, like they did with the Flex.   Greg@PacePerformance is a great source for GM parts and more. (Including fuel systems and injector upgrades).   Very knowledgeable and has a Pontiac G8 GXP with a 2300 Magnacharger.  Know he has updated his injectors and many other components as they failed.  However his is a 6 spd stick.  If for no other reason, he keeps other suppliers honest.  Have met Greg personally and can vouch for Pace (Ohio GM dealer).

If you come up with a TT system, I'm sure there would be G8 interest.  Several people have created their own systems.
