PP shocks in non-PP

I wonder if there is any difference between the pp and non pp struts then.
AEM Dryflo drop in. PP Transmission Cooler and thermostat. 160 tstat, 3 bar map, plugs, AJP 93 Tune, PP Shocks and Springs

Based on Levittown I got the PP struts. It is weird because I can cross reference the same PN to my non PP. And then ZSHO's VIN shows a weird part number with no description. I got the X & Y struts which reference to the same as my "non-pp" vin at ford-parts.com.

Mine seem to be priced the same as the heavy duty ones?

It appears to be the same part number for the 13+ PP vs NON PP SHO,Minus the painted,non-painted caliper option.  Z

Thanks Z. You are very helpful as always. I'll just get the cheaper w/o painted calipers version as they are $20 less. The fronts didn't have a price difference so I'll stick with what was already shipped (w/ painted calipers).

I've called Tasca and ford-parts.com and no one knows what the difference between shocks are lol.

Sadly more info is likely to be gleaned from articles in Motor Trend than from parts counter people.

Since I think my suspension is fairly stiff as it it, it may be safer to just go by vin. Its probably minimal difference.
