Hi, I just joined today. I've owned many performance cars and just recently bought a 2013 SHO with the performance package. I immediately took it ot Livernois Motor Sports and put a 93 perfromance tune on it. Then a few days later took the car to Milan dragway and did a best of 12.995 @ 104.90 which seemed decent to me.

I still own my sc 2011 Mustang GT with many mods making a bit over 600RWHP. But, lately it has gotten harder to drive in traffic with the clutch.

So far really LOVE the SHO. Used these things are the best Ford performance car for the buck in my opinion.

Really appreciate all you folks posting your experience with the SHO.

Merry Christmas!

ZSHO, I'd like to hear more about gapping the plugs. The car had 49K miles on it, one owner. Likely the orig plugs. But, being new to this car, I would like to know more. I understand the 3bar map sensor is important if I want to run more boost. Is this correct? Would like to see the cost of modding the SHO as a DDR turning mid 12s or so. All info is welcome!

Or, should I go to a different thread?

Thanks for all your help!

The original plugs are sometimes scattered around 0.035 -0.039 from the factory and based on your tuners specs would install new Motorcraft SP -534 plugs which are overall better iridium plugs compared to the original platinum plugs you currently have and a 3-bar map tune is ideal for optimal performance and certainly will give you more overall power combined with a colder Stat and make sure to request a V10 tune which is by far the most aggressive tune LME has to offer besides a race tune which will require you to run 100+ octane fuel.
Do you have access to 93 octane fuel? Z . sorry for the delay just hate to type from my phone. Lol.  Z

Thanks for the quick response. I just installed a performance tune from LMS, not a tune while on the dyno.

Is the shorter gap to keep from spark blowout? Though I have to drive 35 miles to get 93, and since this is my summer car, I will use 93. Also thought of ordering Torco to mix with my local 92.

I don't know what a v10 tune is. I like LMS as far as the people and would like to stay with them on most of the mods.

Thanks,

There are  bunch of threads out there related to bolt ons, but the basics are:

Tune+3bar (to run higher boost/let the ECU read the spike values above 14.7 psi boost) - ~$600 or so, can save if buying used
Thermostat ($40 - 60) + tune revision
CAI (some use one, some don't) ~$300 new

These mods, will put you into the mid to high 12's, depending on your car, and your location for ~$1000. My car with just CAI, and a Tune (93 octane, 15psi, stock spark) with 3 bar ran 12.87 @ 107

I have since tuned for E20 and now can run 20-25 degrees of spark advance at WOT. Should be mid 12s as it sits.

I am adding downpipes soon as well (the next major mod that is worth doing, IMO) for ~600 bucks they should shave another .2 or so off, and start the power coming on about 400 rpm earlier.
