I thought this was a basic plug and play unit for the most part and was kinda interested in purchasing this IWG.think  Mike.B Stocks them. IDK.  Z     http://www.ecopowerparts.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=143 Ford SHO Internal Wastegate Actuator (IWG) provides better turbo response and greater sensitivity when managing boost pressures. Designed as a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory part, the SHO IWG is easy to install and requires no special tools or fabrication. It can't get any easier!

May as well throw a manual boost controller on it....The good thing about this mod is it doesn't change things enough to piss off the computer so you can get away with it.

If the boost isn't doing what the computer expects the problem with be that mod...All the wastegate tables are based on many things, one of them being the spring in the wastegate diaphragm.

The wastegate preload is NOT the reason boost is low at low RPM...In fact with the SHO engine, boost is higher at low RPM than most engines out there except maybe diesels which don't count.

Whether you put this mod on or not it WON"T change the commanded boost. It will only force a change that the ECU is NOT expecting and if too far out of what's expected than a friendly DTC or CEL will let you know.

You could just ask for the commanded boost properly in the tune rather than risk the other scenario. The stock wastegates are not a problem

You want more low end boost, dial it in if the calibrator knows how...18-20 psi is easy by 2500 RPM but watch out for LSPI(low speed pre-ignition)

Ha Ha that picture is of my actuators on my kitchen table lol. As far as installation difficulty. I am very picky as I do all own wrenching on my car and have been working on Fords for 23 years. It took me about 4 to 5 hours to install them with a lift. Yes they are bolt in  but on my back in the garage I can see where it can become very trying at times.

I bet the stickers that came with them added additional HP... But only if you put them on the front fenders..

No stickers on car. Do not add weight. Only remove weight.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!
