Getting it off is easy, you can do it with your hands. Grab back side closest to rear window and pull down.

I went back outside and took some photos. These are all orientated so that the left "pod" is drivers side and right "pod" is passenger side.

The assembly has 3 wires (2 signals/power and 1 ground). I don't have electrical schematic so I can't tell you what the purple wire or green/yellow do.

I used the ground wire off the plug that goes into the entire unit; with door closed I turned on map lights (driver side has no bulb at moment). I put positive on "red wire" and it read 12.63V and on "yellow wire" 0.1V. This was on both sides; with and without bulb. I turned switch off and map light went out--voltage didn't change. It was still getting 12V's.

I don't know if this has a circuit board controlling it or what--I don't know what else to honestly do except swap with with someones that does work and see if it's just a bad unit.

Sorry to hear you are sick, appreciate help. Hope you get to feeling better!

Looking forward to your review of them once you get them in and see them at night.

Few more hours and I'm heading out--so far they were lighting up parking garage wall far more than the other LED's.

geswek

Yep; they DEFINITELY work at night -- went to a pitch back parking lot and was able to see clearly in the rear.

Now I just need my replacement rear mirror lamp assembly and to do the puddle lights.

In the new year, they moved our reverse lights to the trunk lid instead of the quarter body like 2010-2012.

Not sure where you derived your info for this Storm, however, the 2010-2012 model years have their reverse lights located within the rear / trunk decklid (just like your 2013).

They are NOT in the quarters as you have stated they are / were.

Someone in the thread -- oh well.

3 or 4 sets of LEDs and I found a set that work for this style of reverse housing; I'm good.

Not to disagree with you but...you can clearly see the back-up bulb in this picture:

Ahh, after a quick dressing down from bpd, I must agree with him...(and I checked) the back-up bulb in our cars is indeed located in the trunk lid portion of the light..I stand corrected.  Or in bpd's case: "Yes, officer you are correct, I was in the wrong and I will make sure it doesn't happen again".

OK.

Then you need to buy the LED I linked last night.

They work great and really light up the rear when backing up.

Hey Mark!  I hope Mike just gave you a warning.

bpd1151

Hahaha.... no warning's necessary.

Much like I never assessed a "warning" to you either Dave.

The important thing here is, is that we put out there, the correct info.

Well, at least as accurate as possible. That's a standard i'd like to strive for here.....

Misinformation does more injustice to all involved, rather than simply sitting quietly on the sidelines and reserving comment.

I'm the first to preface my own comment(s), or opinion(s) with some admission of "I have no clue", or "i'm not the most knowledgeable in this area, hopefully others with more expertise chime in" etc. etc.

For instance, look at the whole issue of the E85 set up versus Methanol & who's allegedly running out of fuel, or who isn't.....

I stated very clearly in those threads (besides a lot of questions) that i'm pretty clueless on that subject matter.

So in concluding, it's all good. Just remember to try & be as accurate as possible when it comes to posting technical related stuff / hints and the like.

Carry on chums

Take that nonsense out of my thread.

DJE624

LOL  I was just hoping you handed out warnings as opposed to tickets.  It's all good.  I appreciate having good info here.  It's also funny when Storm beefs about getting jacked.

bpd1151

I love Storm

I blame the dude who said they were not in trunk lid--I clearly went off his recommendation; frankly I'm a 2013; I don't care about you dudes beneath me.

I love you too Mike; if we ever meet, I hope I get handcuffed by you--at least I know I'll be in good hands.
