I went from the Goodyear RS-A to the Cooper Zeon RS3-S. What a difference. The Cooper tires are so much quieter and have good grip in the dry and are pretty impressive in the wet. I've had them on for close to 4,000 miles so far and I love them.
I did, however, drive them while there was still some snow on the ground. That was scary. The person who said driving summer tires on snow was like driving on hockey pucks was not wrong.

Summer tires in the winter = sledding!

I am tempted to try out those Cooper Zeon RS3-S's. A local place here can do a set out the door for about $675. I know summer tires tend not to last as long as most all seasons, but if it means riding on rails as you push the SHO through some turns, then I think it is worth the trade off. Especially since I already have the winter set for the cold months.

Since you already have snow tires I would go with performance. I went with Pilot Super Sports which should be here tomorrow. There were a few other performance tires which were about 2/3 of the price but they don't have a tread life warranty like the Super Sports (30000 miles).

I know they are pricey, but I've put 15K on my Pilot Sport A/S 3's and they are amazing, worth every penny.

Being as I'm another guy in the market right now looking at new tires for my SHO, does anyone have any experience with BF Goodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S? I see on tire rack they are listed as a "new" tire..

I'm trying to decide between them and the General gmax as3's.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned as I just got a PP equipped car and we have a storm coming in tomorrow.

I will definitely need to find new tires by this fall.

Hopefully I can destroy these in the next 6 mos, lol.

UHP summer tires in snow and ice makes for some real ***hole puckering. Glad I live in good ol Texas. Don't see the stuff but a couple times per year.

Just out of curiosity, what did you guys get out of the OE Goodyears? I'm at nearly 20K and still have a decent amount of tread remainig. Not bad for their horrendous tread wear rating. Guess I'm not driving aggressively enough. Lol
Needless to say, still keeping an eye out here, for when the time comes.

Aside from getting little greasy on track days, I am impressed with the Goodyear F1, so since I have winter wheel/tire. I replaced mine after 15K with the same tire due to price.  I may one day switch the Michelin version, but price was the main driver.

My GY SuperCars have 14K on them and the wear bars are approaching fast.  I'm going to get one more summer out of them and replace them in 2016.  I also switch between winter and summer wheels/tires.

I'll probably go with them again if they remain the cheapest option.  With only running them 6-8 onths out of the year, I can get three summers out of them.

My OE Goodyears saw close 25k, which I suppose isn't too bad, but once that tread started to go, it was gone in a hurry. They got the job done, but are not the cheapest Summer tire option out there.

I had the original Goodyear f1's which lasted me about 15k and overall a great tire, just wish they lasted longer(my fault)next tires on my wishlist are the Hankook V-12 which are a great summer tire and probably will outlast the Goodyears.   http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hankook&tireModel=Ventus+V12+evo2&partnum=445YR0K120XL&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Ford&autoYear=2013&autoModel=Taurus&autoModClar=SHO

I actually decided to go with these. the Evo2's have gotten a lot of positive reviews, so that plus their already fair price and a $80 rebate offer they just started I had to give them a shot. I should be getting them put on sometime this week and looking forward to it. Sloppin' around in my Blizzaks on 18"s is fine when there IS snow, but I am overdue for some curve hugging.

Getch those Hankooks V12-EVO2 are some great high performance summer tires for the money, excellent grip and should outlast the F1'S,best of luck and keep us updated on how well they perform.Z

Good tire choice.  I have had great success with the first generation V12s on my Audi S4 and think you will enjoy them on your SHO.

ive got 10k logged on nitto motivos 255/45, rides good, handled the recent ice/snow here in north tx really well (i was doing like 50 on the way to work at 4am before they even cleared the roads) and dropping pressure to 28psi i can hook and get 1.7x-1.8x 60fts all day. Oh and the tread is still great, i blew through the GYf1's by 14k if that gives you any impression on my driving.

Some hate em, but im in the Nitto camp for now
