Summer or All Season Tires and your recommendations...

It didn't take long, but I have run through the stock Goodyear summer tires that came with the performance package on my SHO. I also have a separate set of 18" wheels with Blizzaks for the snow/winter, but now that it is spring I am needing to put some new rubber on my stock 20" wheels.

Handling and traction are very important as well as a quiet tire, but I do not want to sacrifice tread life too much. I am curious what experience everyone else has had and what works best for our larger awd vehicles. I would prefer a budget friendly option (if possible), and actually read some good things about a new tire from Cooper. Their Zeon RS3-S and A tires look promising, but not too sure ( http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Performance.aspx ).

Continental Extreme contact comes All season or summer... and a new tire is rumored.    Hankook Ventus is another good summer tire option.  Both these without completely breaking the bank.

I had the old version of their old UHP snow rated tire. (I forget the name)

They were the best tire I ever owned, phenomenal dry and wet handling, but I couldn't get the damn things to last more than 10k miles.

I got a second set at 50% off but same results.

Now that they have a tread wear warranty, I am willing to try again.

Looks sweet... also avoids asymmetrical tread for those wanting complete rotations.

If you get them and the sidewall feels soft, throw some PSI at them, that will fix them right up.

I have the general gmax. I got them in October 2014. So after an almost full winter Season I can say they're  awesome  in the snow and rain. Have not had them for summer yet.  A little louder than my Michelin mxm4. I went 255/45 for  a slightly taller / wider tire on factory wheels.
Highly recommend for an all season so far.

I run Nitto Motivo extreme performance all season tires. I'm extremely pleased with them. I have 20k miles put on them, including 2 winters. Still tons of tread and excellent grip. There is wear indicators in 3 stages and I'm still well within the first stage. Literally still look new with 20k miles. 60k Treadwear warranty.

Super quiet also and make for a great cruising tire and also a spirited driving tire. I've been over 150mph on them multiple times and have driven 1k+ miles on them in a couple of days. Absolutely no complaints. Would buy them again in a heartbeat!

Have you had these at the drag strip? Just curious about the grip there. I am going to be replacing mine original tires soon and I am going back and forth between these or the Nitto Invo's. I have a set of winter tires, Blizzak's so I can run just a summer tire only if I choose.

Asymetrics are ok to rotate just not directional.

I have about 2500k miles on my Pirelli Cinturado P7 all seasons.  I have been satisfied.  Great in wet and snow compared to the OEM Michelins. Just as quiet. Ride a tad harsher than the Michelins.  Still excellent though.    Bought them based on Tire Rack reviews (did not buy them from Tire Rack though).

I did the same thing - Goodyear from the PP and then Blizzaks in the winter for the first two years. Last summer one of the Goodyears sprung a leak and I decided to go with all-season and got the Cooper Zeon RS-3 A's.

This winter was not horrible here in Central Iowa but we did have snow, ice and wet and the Zeon's performed very well - not as good as Blizzaks, but then I did not expect that.

The benefit is that on the dry days they were BETTER than the Blizzaks. Wet performance is GREAT - we had a good bit of rain just yesterday and I was more than pleased with their handling as I ambled home . Just a disclaimer - I don't drag this car it's my DD however I am a "spirited" driver. Cannot comment too much on longevity yet - they are approaching 1yrs - maybe 15k miles and look good.

I went from the Goodyear RS-A to the Cooper Zeon RS3-S. What a difference. The Cooper tires are so much quieter and have good grip in the dry and are pretty impressive in the wet. I've had them on for close to 4,000 miles so far and I love them.
I did, however, drive them while there was still some snow on the ground. That was scary. The person who said driving summer tires on snow was like driving on hockey pucks was not wrong.

I have a new of Falken Azenis PT-722 (245-45-20) on my SHO.  For the price & the 40,000 mile warranty, you can't beat 'em!!
