Are all you guys nuts? I have great traction!

If I disable "advance-trac" ie. put the car in sport-mode with the gear selector in "S", I will generate wheel spin sufficient enough to generate the "Service Advance-Trac Soon" warning complete with associated codes which have to be cleared.

I have done this enough times to know I cannot use the the gear selector "S" at the strip, no 2 ways about it. The exact same thing would happen with my 2011.

I'd like to chime in and say the same goes for the Explorer Sport. No way to spin the tires without losing all the power, regardless of whether traction control is on or not, its just as ElvenSho said, it would fall on its face as I've had this happen if trying to brake boost much past 2k. Either go before the tires break loose, or call it a day

All we have in the X is traction control

same here, I turn it off but its never truly off. Maybe Torrie can disable it but then I doubt I could ever have it on.

After a while of owning one of these cars it's clear they aren't 'sports cars'. They're Fords (Which is okay!) with nice motors and we're pushing them farther than they probably should go.

1st to 2nd is definitely a lack of throttle body and line pressure...acceptance? Just wasn't built for Launching @ 2k RPMS and quickly slamming into 2nd at full load.

When your first set of tires die-- Don't go to the dealership and get bent over for the same garbage rubber. Do your research and get a better, sportier compound. I know on my Xport- That's my least favorite thing, The drive-train system is a close 2nd.

I think ya'll would be shocked what would happen on the strip with some better rubber. (Even just street rubber)

That also being said. I spent 300$ total on Slicks for the G35, I got a 1.5 60' with a 5AT (at the time) Transmission-- There's NOTHING like getting off the line like that (was 425whp at the time)

Foot on brake and hold the traction button for a few seconds...I think the non PP guys are out of lock for that feature....I think the it can be defeated though in the tune but not sure about that. I have options in my strategy for traction control but I may only have those options because of the particular strategy. A different strategy may have more or less scalars within the tune

Torrie wasn't keen on doing that for me, seems to think there's some serious issues with it-- That was a few months ago though.

What do you mean? I think mine shifts into 2nd pretty damn fast...The tuning ability in these new automatics and what they are capable of anymore is incredible to me.

After seeing what these engines are capable of I don't think were pushing these things all that hard. I did however get a better set of tires last year after having to replace them due to a huge nail in the sidewall of one of them. I went with the yokos prada spec xs
