In the middle of winter, asking for AWD is asking for a piece of unobtanium. Don't feel too bad, I was stuffed into a 2013 Hyundai Accent (GDI!) for a few days this week while the Edge was undergoing warranty work. Not too bad of a car actually, but for slight engine buzziness & overall notsoquiet interior.

I have dealt with these body shops quite a few times in the past,its all about shortcuts and whats more beneficial to them,no offense but honestly i would show my face there and get an update or an official estimate and what exactly they are ordering and need to be changed,on my other car someone hit me in the rear,while the car was parked and the bodyshop put body compound on the trunk pan to make it look good temporarily.

I ended up driving a KIA Soul around while my car was being repaired. Can't say O was thrilled bit it was better than I thought it would be. It had a ton of headroom (I'm 6'3) which was surprising for how small it was. Then again it is box shaped...good luck with the repair Rich!

I went over everything with these guys. I specifically pointed stuff out and said this needs to be fixed (door gaps), told them of the trunk pan in accident just like this needs to be cut out and new one in, and was assured a call when it was fully assessed.

Warned them of my condition, SHO-CD...lol

In my mind, if the frame is twisted a little. The trunk pan replacement would be key in helping lock the fix into place.

This cx-5 looks small on the outside but has room inside it seems. Think that comes from sitting on the floor though. I can't believe it weighs more than the SHO, and I bet I could stuff twice as much stuff in the SHO.

The CX-5 would be a hoot with a turbo and 250hp+. Wonder how that AWD system works with snow.

I have a 2015 Tahoe rental in my driveway now, sweet ride. Getting over a foot of snow today/tomorrow, will give it a proper test drive.

The CX5's GVW (curb weight + payload) is 4500 lbs, curb weight is actually 3400. The CX7 was 3800, and the CX9 is 4600.

0-60 is 7.6/7.8/7.5 seconds stock respectively. So yeah, quite a bit slower than the SHO even bone stock.

Well, I was busy working so the wife had to run and pick up the car.

She obviously wasn't qualified to deal with these idiots, as they seem to be trying to completely take us to the cleaners.

And they then tell her that the $500 appearance allowance for dented exaust tip was used for deductible, when we had verbally agreed on waived deductible plus the $500.

Oh how I want to start handing out high fives to the face with a flat shovel.

You need to use a curved shovel. It has more contact points. Well hope you get. Them to fix it correctly

Either they think you don't care, have rapidly failing vision, or developed an acute loss of brain function.... They need to make this right... or someone else does on their nickel.

I would personally call the claims department a.s.a.p and complain that the proper work was not performed as expected,and wont take back the vehicle until the proper work is performed to your satisfaction,good luck buddy and keep us updated on the matter.Z.

Rich... Since the shop was approved by your insurance there is almost certainly a clause requiring your approval of the work before the case is closed. If your wife didn't sign it that would seem the big point to make with your ins co. and the shop to get it done right.
