Hey all!

I've been a long time performance car enthusiast and have decided to get back into the game. Previously, I've owned a 1998 Mustang Cobra, a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8, and a 2006 Pontiac GTO.

Last week, I purchased my first Ecoboost vehicle, a black 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan. I bought the car with just under 12,000 miles and it is a true pleasure to drive! I'm planning on modding this spring/early summer. I'd like to have a tuned, full bolt on car by summer.

I look forward to a fun-filled future with a wonderful car. If you're in the Chicagoland area and would like to meet up/cruise, I am always game!

Welcome.

I know 1st hand from my own private tour of the TDM Police Upfitting Facility, that not many PI's were ordered, or outfitted with the EB engine, by most municipalities.

If you truly possess the EB variant, than kudos. :ok:

Maybe our paths will cross while motoring around the Chi-Town area.

Don't forget about the Nat'l SHO Convention being held here in 2015.

Enjoy the ride.  :drive:

Welcome OP. If you're truly looking for performance, lose some weight, the bumper grill and the the PI wheels. The reason I say the wheels is because I am rocking my snow tires on the exact wheels, and the first day I put them on, the difference was huge on how the car moved from start. I was really shocked on how much the steel weels slowed the sho's response. The car feels so lazy and moves so much slower with the PI wheels compared to the stock Sho wheels due to more rotating mass. Those steel wheels will slow your reaction and response time big time. I would definetly look into another set of wheels and just keep those for the winter. Other than that, looks very nice.

For those curious, here's the window sticker. Most of these options I'm certainly not used to seeing on a car, pretty cool! I'll try to find some good photos of older rides, it's been years but I know they're still floating around there somewhere. I will also be very interested in attending the SHO meet, looks like a killer event! Now to have the car finished by then...

Those panels add a crap ton of weight to the car.

I'm trying to recall from my tour of the "TDM" (Police Up fitting Facility) near the CAP....

90-ish lbs per door is coming to mind for some reason.

welcome from st louis. we have a couple burbs that use taurus's in fact one leo lives in our subdivision, but have yet to see an eco one, all are flex fuel. have seen black ones with blue body wraps & they look good including the wheels, but the white local don't look very good, the wheels are ugly. anyway driving it like that you can sure scare some people if that's your thing. plan on attending convention myself, should be a blast!!!

The cops in Fort Walton Beach hate the weight those ballistic panel add to the car, but for safety purposes what you are you going to do.  Welcome to forum and gratz on your new ride.

Do the PIs get a more reinforced frame (& hinges for doors)?  More likely to be involved in high-speed/weird-angle collisions?
