Was checking out the underneath of the SHO today after some communication dtc's. Wiring looks good but the upper hose going into the turbo is 75% free and with little effort I can open up a gap wide enough to fit my fingers in. It looks like the end of this tubing is ripped.

Any suggestions, ideas, precautions?

Top left of pic would be part of trans where the cap for it is if you follow the black plastic to the top.

Thx...the boot on end of this pipe is ripped apart pretty bad and the way it's formed there is gonna cause me to have to replace entire thing... $185 piece of plastic...wow

I would get some engine degreaser and clean that area and then apply some Permatex black silicone adhesive sealant which is heat and water resistant and put some around the ripped part and let dry for 24hrs,could be a temp fix or better.

After this draft I'm gonna pull it off and head to the stealership tomorrow. Hope the extended warranty covers it. Good idea BTW.

That is exactly what they found on mine when I had to replace the front Turbo (thankfully all under warranty).  Makes me wonder if that isn't what caused the turbo to fail...

To replace under warranty I'd be without the car for at least 7 days as the 3 closest stealerships are "very backed up" right now. 4 days before they could even look at it to deem it covered. So I just took it off and brought it up there. Guy in service said it would be covered under the 60k drive train warranty if I could get car there and let them do it. Needing 2 vehicles I just ordered the expensive piece of plastic out of pocket. Will be here tomorrow morning.

How many miles did you have at the time and was it all goo'ed up also?

Hopefully I caught this soon enough to prevent damage. Car still drove fine and had pretty consistent #'s on boost via Torque.

About 56k on the odometer. I actually never saw it. The turbo was leaking so everything was all full of oil which is why they were replacing it. Tech found it during replacement. They didn't have the pipe in stock so I had to wait another 2 days.
