FracaSHO

So I got my Christmas bonus today. I the wife lets me keep some or all of it, I will be buying presents for my SHO.   I have a short list, and won't be doing anything major such as upgraded turbos or meth. Here's what I need for my 10' SHO:

1) K&N intake. I can't find one for the 2010, only 2011 and up. Will that work? Part numbers for either year?

2) Eibach springs. I found 2 different sets on autollicity.com  I can't see the difference between the 2, except for price. Part # anyone?  Anyone know a reputable shop where I can have the springs installed in the Chicagoland area?

3) This is an opinion question. Corsa or Stainless Works exhaust?  I like the sound of the Corsa more, but SW is cheaper.

I also have PPE catted downpipes on my list, and plan on a tune from LMS. About the tune; should I:

A) have LMS send me a tune with the mods in mind? I have a mac and don't think I will be able to upload new tunes they send me, so I would need to get the right tune from the start.

B) add the mods, CAI, exhaust, downpipes, then go to LMS to get a custom tune?

Thanks.

Or C) have LMS send me a tune with the mods I add, and get a custom tune in the future?

Sorry, I can't edit the post for some reason.

BPD has a great guy for the spring install if you want to go to Manhattan, IL  (Past Joliet)

3) Corsa

Get a custom tune at LMS.

Edit-Actually, check with LMS and see what they can do for you regarding added mods.  Then maybe go out there later.

He actually moved his shop from Manhattan, to near the intersection of U.S. Route 30 (Lincoln Hwy) & Renwick Road in Plainfield.

I've been with him for nearly 10yrs now, & he's top notch all the way around. Plus great pricing to boot!

LMK.

I have all Mac's as well with MyCal touch screen tuner. All I do is pop out the SD card and copy file sent from LMS into the proper folder. As for the other devices you could format your Mac to run windows and do a dual operating system. Pretty simple to do your Mac already has a program built in called "BootCamp" just need copy of windows.

Knew there was something I liked about you crash!... I still have my Apple IIe from 1979..it works.

Seriously, Bootcamp requires a reboot... will things work in an emulator like parallels?... It's more than the tune, it's the data logging apps.

Ha thanks, once you go Mac you never go back. Never tried parallels years ago when I looked into it didn't sound very stable and crashed a lot. I ran boot camp right after I bought 1st Mac to run MS money mainly and I never really mind rebooting. Even now I am thinking repartitioning again to run windows and be able to data log and be able run tuner software. And since upgrading my MBP with a SSD a reboot only takes about 30sec.

I'm jealous... waiting to replace my MBP... going SSD then..... It's an order of magnitude quicker R/W for sure!  Bootcamp would make the best sense with that set up. :thumb:

FYI... You're right about the Mac... I'm addicted there too... got a Mac Pro, MBP, 2 27" iMacs, a 21.5 iMac, all the handhelds. I told you guys I was a nerd in my profile/intro.  :pc:

I wish I would've held onto my Radio Shack TRS-80 & Tandy 1000.

MS DOS was da bomb.

Not to forget gaming on Colecovision was an experience in & of itself.

Oh wait, oops..... part #"s

I Officially got the OK from Mrs. FracaSHO to use my Christmas bonus as I please. Voided warranty, here I come!

But seriously, what gains/ET's should I expect from K&N CAI, Corsa exhaust, PPE downpipes (maybe), and tuned by LMS?

This is what to expect.  More is possible, but questionable.

K&N=0
Corsa=0
DPs=20?
Tune=45 WHP (4+/93 on my SHO)

The K&N doesn't surprise me. I'm looking for that turbo sound. But no power gains from the Corsa?  Does that apply to all exhaust systems?   $1,000+ for sound only isn't worth it. Seems like I'd be better off with the downpipes and keep the stock exhaust.

4DR has a list of what he got and his opinion of bang for the buck performance mods.

Not to contradict those with more experience than I have... but here's some info I accumulated on CAIs

Both K&N and Airaid claim gains... Airaid has dyno proof on 2013 SHO of 9 WHP and 15 ft/lbs wheel torque (per email from them after I asked.
K&N claims gains... IU think it's like 15HP... but they they never responded to my inquiry.
Hennessey also claims a lot (like 25 hp..... but they have been know to exaggerate and they want 10x as much as most CAIs cost.

You could ask Corsa for dyno evidence.
