ALCANTARA steering wheel fading

Very wise approach Z, I appreciate the advice. I will definitely take this approach to get some info from the dealer. Per your expertise and experience, Is there a chance to negotiate with them on the price, or is the price they give me kind of set in stone so to say?

You can always cross-check online pricing from Flood Ford, Lombards, etc. That can give you an edge in price negotiations at the dealership.

I just came back from the dealer with a new steering wheel covered under the 3yr-36 month warranty as mentioned above,it honestly does feel great in many aspects,the new one seems to have a more of a darker charcoal color though which is great,for anyone thats curious the process took about an hour for install,pics below as promised. Z

BTW the correct part #is on the work order below as the parts are a bit confusing if your looking for a PP wheel. Z

Nice that dealer has excellent service. I've never been a fan of big window shade covers but I might get a towel or something to drape over my steering wheel when the car will sit in the sun for a bit.

I think SHOdded mentioned a great quality suede conditioner/protectent a while back,maybe he will chime in later,thanks. Z

Try the Sonax product for Alcantara:

The seats are suede, this product MIGHT work for that as well, not 100% though. Based on this thread, suede might be a tad easier to clean with household products if you wanted:

Leather Master used to have a product also specifically for Alcantara, but I am having the hardest time locating it now.

303 Fabric Guard and CarPro Cquartz Fabric & Leather Coat might be good protectants after the cleaning is done.

The two most commonly used products are: Swissvax Alcanta Textile Cleaner / Raceglaze Alcantara Cleaner

Autoglym Interior Shampoo is also highly recommended. As with other cleaners, lightly mist & wipe away.

Does the 3 year 36month warranty only for the originally buyer I'm wondering if a buy a 13 should with cracked vinyl on the seats and a worn out Alcantara wheel. Am I eligible for that warranty?

It's for whoever owns the vehicle within 3/36 of the original purchase/sale date (to 1st owner). So you could be 2nd, 3rd, 4th owner but as long as you are within that period, you are still eligible to get it fixed. Not sure if that is affected any if the vehicle is initially a Ford corporate vehicle before being sold to a non-Ford entity.
