I am going to the track on 8/7/15, my question is. What has everyone tried with what results? Tire pressure, launch rpm, traction control, someone said take engine cover off,  these kinds of things.

When my car was stock I changed no tire pressure, traction off, launch at 2 k or so, wouldn't really go any higher. 13.5 @ 103. I think I'm gonna try it with traction on and off if I can get a bunch of runs.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Definitely traction control off. I do not have the performance package and when I forgot to turn off the tc the car fell flat on its face when the tires spun.  I was launching around 1800-2200.

Oddly enough my tuned car ran faster with the TC the last time I was at the track.  When it was stock I definitely felt it fall flat on its face after spinning.

That fine line between wasted power (spinning excessively) and enough power delivery to the drivetrain to overcome inertia is the holy grail for sure.

Maybe I should ditch the sport truck tires the previous owner had on the car.  I mostly ran high 1.8s with TC on and low low 19s with it off.
