Ford Transit Ecoboost, whats the difference between this motor and the F150?

In the F150 this motor makes 365hp and 420ft-lbs. With a tune you can push roughly 450hp and 530ft-lbs.

In the Transit it makes 310hp and 400ft-lbs. How different is this motor from the F150? Is it just running less boost?

And of course the most important quesiton, could you use the same sorta tuner for the F150 on a Ford Transit Ecoboost? Just imagine a 450hp 530ft-lbs Van....

I'm just asking out of curiosity. Not because I know someone who has one as their company vehicle and complains about having problems towing.

Looks like an F150 tuner should work.  Though you'd have to ask Unleashed, LME, Five Star, etc. to be sure.

"The optional 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 is another carry-over from the F-150 range. Again, specifications have not been finalized, but in its F-Series guise, the engine is rated at 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque."

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!
