Took the SHO out this last Friday night to the street legals race and got in 5 passes. My fastest pass was 13.600@101.2mph. To be honest I was pretty disappointed, I figured it would run much faster but that was the best she did. All 5 passes ranged from 13.600-13.89...all at right around 100-101mph for the trap speed. My 60 ft's ranged from 2.0-2.1's all night, I lauched at 2200-2300rmp's everytime. Track altitude is 1430ft. Temp was 80 when I got there and 72 by the time I left at 11pm. Humidity was 60% that evening as well.

Here is the best et time slip...

Its not to bad,you just need to focus on those 60'times,did you lower your tire psi, remove engine cover,if you were able to get those 60' around 1.8 you would of been in the high 12's,definetly need to find that sweet spot and try lauching around 2,000 rpm. Z

Yea I never even thought to lower the tire psi, I'll have to try that next time. I did remove the engine cover, not sure how much it helped though. Looking back I should've let the car cool down more in between passes, drive 45 mins there and then made 5 passes all within an hour, then let a buddy made a couple passes in it, then called it a night and drove back home. Never once let it cool off for more than 20 mins the whole time it was there, next time I won't be so stupid lol!

Im guessing you had some traction issues correct, definetly need to let her cool down a bit, also with a quarter of a gas in the tank. Z

The DA was not your friend that night.  It would have been around 3000 depending upon the time you ran.  You would have been in the lower 13s with better air.

DakotaSHO

Traction wasn't an issue, it actually never even made so much as a squeak of the tires leaving everytime. I did have darn near a full tank of gas thinking back so definatly need to prepare better next time, 1/4 tank, let it cool down proper, and I'll try launching right at 2k rpms.

DA at 11 pm was 2800, definitely not great conditions...can't see sig on tapatalk either...I'd highly suggest giving it cool down time in between runs if possible...I noticed that 2 or 3 hot lap type runs is the max before you start losing to heat soak and such.

If running that many times in a row in that heat, I'd also recommend an oil change...but I'm a little OCD on that stuff

I'm ocd on that stuff as well, its gotten an oil change every 2500 miles with Penzoil Platinum since I've owned it and I did have the oil changed this weekend the Saturday morning after even though it'd only been in there for ~1500 miles.

Good to hear!

Another thing with hot lapping...your tire pressure builds up fast.

What CAI you running? Can't see sig

I changed my oil before CAD track day and after since we ran it so many times...like 200 miles on the oil but it had to go

Running the windstorm cai with few tweaks that I saw on this forum done to it...

Have you chalk tested it to make sure it's a tight fit?

Yes, I did. I actually added another strip of weatherstipping on top of the one in that photo to get it to finally seal up tight to the underhood.

Dakota, I see you are running a 4+ 91 octane tune.  I am not sure if anyone has gotten into the 12s with the 91 octane version even in good air.  Your numbers might not be too far off considering the DA that you had.
