Thick white smoke on my MKS

i've got a thick white smoke coming out the exhaust! blocks off the entire street.

  Scenario  - i bought a new/used MKS just yestarday. flew out and drove it home for 12 hours.  the car ran great for the first 7 hours  i stopped for some fuel and when i hit the highway again i noticed a small noise (metered by throttle) after about 10 minutes it went away. shortly after i noticed no turbo boost. continued the drive home, the next morning i went to start the car and saw a massive amount of smoke.

  checks  - idled the car for 1o minutes, smoke did not decrease
             - pulled plugs, no sign of oil
             -  no antifreeze in oil
             - good idle
             - no MIL ( have not scanned )
   
  i'm not very familiar with turbo systems as this is my first.  i know there s a small coolant passage in the turbo. i'm thinking maybe a seal let go and is leaking antifreeze into the intake?

if a seal like this went would it cause no boost??
is a rebuild kit available?
any other suggestions??

Sounds like a turbo oil seal leak and turbo failure to me.

the car has 70,000KM (43,000mi)  this seems a bit premature to have such a significant failure.  maybe not??

i'm fairly sure it is water that is being burnt.  i pulled the intake tube before the throttle body and there is no excessive amount of oil. it seems to be a light creamy colour.

whether it be water or oil could this cause the turbo to fail?

Welcome, and sorry to hear your MKS is having issues already!  What year MKS is it?  Known mods, or is it bone stock?

Any odor to this smoke?  Water or coolant, to be specific?  Coz if you Seafoam your engine for example, you can get thick white clouds of smoke also.  Check the coolant level in the degas/overflow reservoir?  Did you go through any rainstorms on the way home (thinking water ingestion via the intake)?  The fuel you filled up before the issues started was at a known good station?  Cream colored fluid in the intake/TB could mean PCV blowby accumulation.  I'd check the intercooler to see if it has any buildup.

Sadly, turbos can go at any mileage.  Doesn't sound like you are alone in this experience:

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Thanks for the welcome!  i may not post much but i will be scouring the site regularly.

my car is bone stock--- for now.  if the turbos is no good it may be a blessing in disguise, a good excuse to add some more jam to er.

It is definately coolant burning.  i did go through a rain storm for a few hours on the drive.  i know the pick ups had an issue in these conditions with the CAC. the coolant level may have been down a touch but not enough to be concerned about.. ( which i did expect to see low).  the last fuel stop i made i think was okay. probably not the best fuel, but options are limited at 10pm. i did use a mid grade (87 octane, not sure what this car recommends)

the cream colored fluid didnt seem too excessive either...  and i am aware there will likely be some traces of oil there.

I'd say check your oil ASAP. It could be a blown head gasket. If you have coolant in your oil it can cause more damage to the engine itself than replacing a seal.
