Hissing Noise, Turbo?

Hey guys, so I'm experiencing something when accelerating and can't seem to pinpoint what it is. It's a hissing air like noise that then almost sounds like a soft scrape and seems to be emanating from the front left side. The noise is consistent with my acceleration and not when I cruise. It's hard for me to tell if there is a loss in performance but it's possible cause it feels a bit week when first going but strong when I'm already going. Can it possibly be one of the turbos? Anyone have any similar situations in the past? I am going to have one of my techsbroad test with me tomorrow or Friday to see what's going on. If it is a turbo, are there rebuild kits? Thanks guys!

It sounds like the "vent to atmosphere" thing (nothing to be concerned about). What kind of cold air intake do you have? My K&N does it all the time.... it doesn't sound completely like a "blow off", its more of a sucking sandy into a vacuum sound?

I have a ROUSH cold air intake. That kind of sounds like the issue but what worries me is that it's relatively new.

Or a split pipe.  Known to happen.  Roush CAI should be fine, they have been Ford enthusiasts for a long time.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I had this same sort of sound, it was accompanied by higher boost #'s than I was accustomed to seeing.

It ended up being the air intake pipe that comes from the CAI to the front turbo. The pipe looked fine, except for the sludge build up around it. When laying under car and looking up at it, I still couldn't see (literally a foot from my face) the tear until I pushed on said piping.

I recall that you were still able to achieve great ET on the track even with the split piping.Z

Yes, an assumption it was there at track time it is. Found leak days after, but the buildup of gunk tells me it was that way for a few. 12.66 that day first runs....flashed tune and ran a best of 12.81 after...maybe it popped on the last early run, or tune flash hurt?

It was unnoticeable at point blank range until I pressed on it. Very sneaky tear it was.

Are you bypassing pressure back into the intake (OE), or venting it to atmosphere?
A light scrape? That's a little weird...
