Thinking about improving handling on this car. I know I used to use Hotchkis suspension parts on my '96 Impala. They were hollow sway bars and engine bay brace. Came with top quality greaseable bushings, top quality. Does anyone know of anyone producing items for the SHO? And do you think they are needed?

While I don't think anyone is making them for the SHO, I do think they would probably help, I know that my Shelby had an engine bay brace that ran from the top of the shock towers across the engine bay.  I assume most unibody cars can benefit from additional bracing.

Don't you guys have strut tower braces?  Mine does.

A can't hurt, might help option.

Yes, but upgraded ones would be nice. Also dress up the engine bay like somebody else posted about.

paint your stocker

I don't really care what it looks like, just something that would work good. Nobody but me and the mechanic looks under the hood.

I would like to get one that has the end brace completely surround the shock top for added rigidity (all though I prolly wouldn't notice it the difference other than looks).

Yes, mine does have, but not nearly as stout as the one on my '68 Shelby...again that car was a whole different animal...but I loved it! Should have never sold it!  :wall:

Robert, I don't see any springs in your sig.  Do you have any?  I love my Eibachs and the H&Rs are popular too.  They make a big difference in handling.

The stock strut brace uses the 2 inner shock tower mounting points.  A tubular with box bracing at the ends and using the 4 mounting points would be trick.  I doubt you would even notice much of a difference verses the stock one though.  I thought about having one fabbed up because I bet people would buy one if they were done right.

Nah, done with lowered cars. have had a few. I have not been able to overdrive these springs, so they will do. i was just thinking of adding something to stiffen up the ride/handling. Something relatively easy to install. You know like sway bars and engine bay braces.
