High Intake Temps - How to remedy???
December 18, 2014, 01:31:00 PM
Has anyone sealed the factory airbox to remove some of the incoming engine heat?
Any recommendations on how to bring this temp down?
Attached picture shows Flex sitting and idling for 15 minutes.
Almost a 30 degree differential between ambient and intake temp at the airbox.

They go down but start rising....
I am slowly adding more W/M to see if I can get them lower.

Have you logged your iat2 temp? That's what I log. And yes mine drops substantially at first and the starts to rise again after about 2nd or 3rd gear.
Most folks have their initial at 8 psi and full in by 10 - 12 psi.
At 18 full your only full meth for a fraction of a second at your boost spikes.

In torque IAT2 and cac are different sensors, you might see if iat2 is a listed pid and log that also.
