OMG. This just gets more and more convoluted and confusing. If software updates were named in this fashion we would never truly know what version we were and should be running.

LOL  That's why we have 100 or so posts trying to figure out what's what.  I can't wait until the Stage 4++ comes out!

They will then proceed to rename it "The new stage 4"

I really only need 1 tune..1 option. The most aggressive program you can run for the octane you have available. Maybe a race tune for race gas...otherwise I don't see a need for so many "stages". I probably started this whole thing a couple years ago. As we were going thru revisions they were termed "stages".

Yep..... it's all Darrell's fault folks.....  :bangin:

They oughta name the last and final revision the "Darrell File".

I'm running 4+ that's about a year old as my main tune, and I usually load an even older Stage 3 for when I worry about octane. I'd like to have the latest most aggressive tune for 93 octane for everyday use, and the most aggressive 91 octane for travel. Not doing well with email requests, maybe if I call I'll have better results.

WAHOO!  Found my tune files waiting in the inbox this morning. Just needed patience I guess. Now I can't wait to load it up and see if I notice any difference. On another note anyone know if the other tuners can utilize the MYCAL touchscreen, or is LMS the only one?

So last September when I got the Mycal for my 2013 And requested the 93 Octane stage 4. Since then a stage 4+ is available and I can request it sent? I thought these tunes were all at our own risk! Give me more boost!

I agree and I think that we all understand that running any tune is pretty much an "at your own risk" kind of thing. I do remember that the first time 4+ came out, that there was an additional supplementary warning that came with it. I have to say that I have been running 4+ for a long time as my DD tune and I have found it to be very well mannered and not so "extreme" at all. Possibly it is just LMS being more comfortable with conservative settings.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this, but had a question, is it possible to get both the 93 and 91 tunes? I can get 93 only at a few gas stations, so it would be nice if I knew I couldn't get 93 I could use the 91 tune...

Absolutely.  Most of us have multiple tunes for that same reason.  When you first load the tune, it takes a bit longer because it will save the stock tune prior to installing the custom tune.  After that, switching from one tune to another is quicker.

So what makes the 4+ more dangerous then the 4?  Is the higher boost at shift point hard on the transmission slamming into the next gear?

91 vs 93 tunes, is their that much difference or could you just use the 91 to be a bit safer and available gas compatible?

Switching tunes, doesn't that reset your ltft and other learned data points?

2013 sport mode, whats the shifter do if you go from d to s?  nothing now?

I don't know but for the 2013, there's no such thing as "stages"

I run 91 tune for 10 months. Switch to 93 recently and there is a difference. Not an "OH MY GOD" difference but still worth the try. I am keeping the 93 tune from now on!

From stock to 91 tune it did. Not sure it did from 91 tune to 93 though in my case.

In "S" mode, the throotle response and throotle sensitivity are increase. Also, it will hold RPM in lower gears for a bit and won't shift into 6th. It seems to downshift faster also.

Stage 4 has raised boost, increased timing, transmission mods with the least amount of torque management, removed speed limiter, and max power. requires 91 or 93 octane.
Stage 4 plus has the same as stage 4 only difference is in 4 plus the boost is carried out until the shiftpoint. All other versions of our tunes mimic the factory boost curve and taper off at higher RPM points. Stage4 plus is a RACE ORIENTED tune.

Im the same way about tunes. All I want is Stock, Or the most aggressive tune/highest boost I can possibly run on 93octane without Cats. :D

I just hope thats what Im running. lol Someday when the bike is done, ill sell my Programmer and buy a MyCal and Meth.
