So my 2013 SHO just turned over 1000 miles when last night I noticed two small puddles of oil on the garage floor under where the SHO is normally parked.

So I guess its back to the dealer this really sucks as the nearest ford dealer is over an hour drive away. I already had the car at ford once because the check engine light popped on and that ended up being some emissions solenoid.

I was wondering though do you guys think this could be the TSB 13-9-6 PTU fluid leak? I haven't even crawled around the car much but is the PTU towards the front of the car? I would assume it is?

You weren't able to determine if it was engine oil, or gear oil?

PTU is on the right front side of the car, you will see it when you follow the right halfshaft inwards from the wheel end towards the engine.

What color was the fluid?  If clearish, engine oil, if dark brownish, PTU lube, or reddish, trans oil.  Location of the leak?  Could be a turbo seal/oil line seal.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Good info posted already.  Make sure your car has all of the recalls done, especially the fuel delivery module.  You'd probably know if you were leaking gas though.

The fluid was defiantly clearish with slight yellow brownish tint.

SHOdded is correct that its related to the half shaft seal due to the wear of the case bushing, fluid could arise from that area and explains the oil your seeing.

I wouldn't let it perturb you. I've had a couple new cars in the past, which after repairing a couple of assembly defects very early on (under warranty) went on to be completely reliable.

Anyway, it could have any number of origins. With only 1K miles on the odo, color alone might not be too telling. Definitely a lubricant. If there's enough, dab your finger in it and smell it!

I did smell it and it did not smell like anything to me.

I made an appointment for Monday I'll be sure to jeep you guys posted on the outcome.

IHeartGroceries

If it doesn't smell offensive, I'd guess it's engine oil. Good luck. Hopefully something simple.
In for updates.

Has it rained recently? I've had small puddles of what looked like oil only to turn out to be undercarriage crap.

Actually funny you mention that we have had some mild rain recently just enough to get the roads a little wet. But I put it on my fingers and rubbed it between them and it defiantly was oil. I have been driving the car hard also cause if its going to break I want to to happen now instead of later.

Other then these issues im having I really enjoy the car its amazing how fun it is to drive I have a 1500ft climb up a mountain every day up to my house the road is very windy and its the best part about my daily drive going up and down that.

I've had Audi S4's B7 and B5's all stage 3, 04 VW R32, Two Jeep SRT8's both Vortech blown, 800HP ford lightning, 1000hp coyote mustang, ETC. This car is easily up there on the fun factor with my past rides and my wife loves it. I think im keeping this SHO for the long haul and then ill finally get my 96-99 viper gts I have bee wanting and throw a Paxton on it. :)

Nice rides in your history, Hope you get to the Viper soon!

So just to update you guys the dealers saying the PTU was over serviced and that caused the oil to spill out of the breather once it heated up. Im going to keep an eye on it. I have already talked to ford CRC about all the issues im having with my car and I haven't even made my first payment and the car only has 1400 miles on it. They are going to see about doing a buy back on the car but I doubt that will happen. Overall it has been a huge PITA the nearest dealer is a 3 hour round trip.

Damn. Well let's hope that's all it was but only time will tell. If it's any use to you they will give you an extended warranty to you for your trouble. I had about 6k in warranty repairs that took 5 months to get done. So there will be some kind of compensation. If you ask.
