Consensus? So no one has tried it? Anyone using drag slicks (I wouldn't think so)?
DR's are perfect for AWD in my opinion (all 4 corners w DR's).
DR'S require "very little" burnount and have a much bigger contact patch than street tires (Hoosier and MT may be the best options)
The guys who say you are having traction issues (lower 12's or lower) you may get enough spin on them to create the heat that is required to bring the special compounds to surface.
The guys who are running in the higher 12's, the bigger contact patch by itself can give an improvement in traction.
And don't forget, smaller diameter DR lowers your gear ratio in a way.
