Is your friend's wrx stock or tuned? That may be a good feature to implement in our cars as well, and probably could be done by the tuner. May be a bit more complicated than on the wrx. Isn't the wrx fulltime awd?

I played around with RPM on launches a lot at the strip, best times were achieved around 2K RPM, that was the sweet spot on my 2011 and 2013 SHO's.

wrx was tune but by us so nothing was tuned for that kinda of stuff and it did it when it was stock as well

Ive been launching at 1500 and trying to do it in like one motion without rpm bobbing. I noticed when I went to high it felt like less accel. 0 to 40. No times though just feel

Click the selector dial into 'sand mode' (the one with the cactus image) power brake it to about 1900 and try it again...

I know this is a couple months old now, but I also found about 2k to be the sweet spot. Seems like anything over than this and the tires seem to break loose anyway (tested with brand new Spec-x's also)

Also anything definitive between launching in sand vs. normal with TC off? Seems to be a little more spirited in sand?

Not on my 14 you do not. If you floor it in M it will shift at redline.. I'm not trying out outshift the auto, rather I want to shift at redline not earlier.

ive always thought about what is the procedure for a perfect launch ive heard auto and launching at 1800-2500 is best. i do like feeling in M.
