13+ Brakes on 09-12 models? (Taurus and MKS)

So it looks as though the 13+ brought a 1" larger rotor on both the Taurus and the MKS.  Curious if, like the Gen 1/2 SHO's, you can just change out the caliper bracket and use the larger rotors and pads.  Has anyone dug into this yet?  I haven't been able to find anything yet.  My wife is not going to be happy that I just bought this car with 28k on it and I already want to change the brakes, but these things are HORRIBLE from highway speeds.  My 09 was much better.  Not sure where these pads are at, but the rotors are shot.  If I need to replace, I'd prefer to get a larger rotor if possible.  Otherwise the EBC route looks promising.

I went the Raybestos Adv Technology route (available on Amazon) per someone's recommendation on the forum.

i should have the rotors and pads installed this weekend.  i'll let you know how they feel and perform soon...

I would love to see if this can be done.  The 13+ also have a different master cylinder that helped out.  I went with the EBC slotted rotors and Red Stuff pads shortly after buying my SHO and I need to do the rears soon.

As far we know it could be done. But the changes to do it, would require replacing just about all of entire front suspension. EBC red stuff and there slotted rotors improve my braking a lot.

Thanks crash. That's what I was wondering. With the older SHO, I think you could put bigger rotors on a gen 2 by using gen 3 parts. But the older your car was the more parts it required. I was hoping for a similar situation. I'll just go with the EBC route probably.

13" has been a glass ceiling for a long time on the SHO :)  At least by staying at or near stock size you don't have to worry about biasing complications.

I researched this about a year ago. Its not economical at all unless you have a wrecked car to take parts off of. There aren't many wrecked 2013 Taurii.

The 2013+ brake booster and master cylinder bolt in with little modification (you need to bend the front most brake line about 15 degrees down). This modification fixes the brake pedal feel. It is substantial difference, for a low parts cost of about $250. I just recently switched brake pad compounds to Raybestos Hybrid E3 and it eliminates the brake fade on long highway off-ramps.

I think it is a requirement to have the 2013+ brake booster and master cylinder if you go with larger brake calipers (either factory or aftermarket, TCE, etc.)

You need at minimum,
-Front struts with mounts
-Front knuckle and hub
-Outer tie rods, possibly steering rack
-Calipers
-Caliper Bracket
-Rotors
-Pads
-and I couldn't verify, but you may also need the lower control arms as well.

I was able to get a heck of a deal on the powerstop kit last night from autoanything. They are currently on sale. With the sale and the 16% fmrtundra16 discount code posted above I was able to pick up the entire kit for $277.71 with free shipping. Additionally I added the black lincoln branded caliper covers which were $167.99 with free shipping after the discount code. I'm definitely looking forward to improved braking and the look of slotted/drilled rotors behind my wheels.

I also have a 2002 Mustang GT/Saleen Clone that I have been running powerstops on for about a year. No complaints, but I have not put any serious miles on them (MAYBE 150-200 miles since they went on). The car is a low mileage car, 35,000 on the clock, first 28k of those coming the first year I owned it (weekend driver).

Looking to upgrade stopping power and feel.  Just put ceramic pads on the rear, really like the new feel.  Question:  Are the EBC, Brembo or Powerstop rear rotors vented?  My stockers are solid without dual plates and venting between.  Im kinda likin the Blue Brembos.  NE1 know where they are all made?  China I'm guessing.

All rear rotors are solid and the front are vented, based on my experience with rotors and pads usually they are made in china, and rare occasion Canada and Germany, came across some rotors not specifying where their made in,would stay away from drilled rotors they are vulnerable to cracking, the only thing that they are good for is appearance, showcar.
