I get this question a lot, "How fast have you had it up to?"

Am I the only one that doesnt care about top end? Its ALL about acceleration. Yes I have been to some crazy top speeds and still pulling like a banshee, but it doesnt matter if it takes 1/2 hour to get there. lol

I currently own a 300whp ZX14, had several 1000cc sport bikes, Corvette doing about 550whp, Camaro that ran 11.1@122, on and on and on. Id be lying if I said I hadnt been to some crazy high speeds, but its all about acceleration. Even on my Turbo ZX14, I rarely go over 150mph. But thats about the top of 3rd right now with the long gears I have in it. lol

When i was a stupid kid, racing a T/A ws6, in my dads 89 750i, i think it shut down somewhere in the 150's but it was still pulling hard before it hit the limiter.


In my SHO, ive topped the speedo at 140 still pulling, GPS said 153 when i let off due to running out of asphalt.

*disclaimer* SHO was on a airfield runway.

I agree driving at high speeds is auxilirating but insane acceleration is that much better.

Side note can I go for a ride on your zx14, I promise I wont get on it to much. I just wanna feel the power between my legs  hahahaha

Indicated 175 in a twin turbo 347 powered '89 Saleen Mustang as a passenger. As a driver, about 155 in my old '70 vette 420 stroker sbc.

Well in my earlier days (twenties) I had a 91 Notch 5.0 with the steep 2.75 axle with the AOD.  Had exhaust and intake mods and had it close to the 150 mph mark a couple of times.  Not proud of the 56 minute time I made from Austin Tx to Waco Tx which is about 110 miles.

Had my 03 Cobra 460/472 whp up to 130 mph range half a dozen times.

And finally low 140 mph range in my 08 Caliber SRT4 360/370 fwhp.  It was still pulling pretty hard when I let out.  But, 100's of 60 to 120 mph pulls on a deserted highway I know of...

Those Mexican highways, deserted highways and frontage roads (my excuse) really get a workout don't they?

The fun one was 125mph in a Ferrari f430 scuderia. Was on a small track, with more room it would obviously keep going.

All of this on a closed track of course.

~130 in my 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.  So far the Explorer has only crept up to 90 and 110 in the Audi.  I'm sure all of these can go faster but I just don't have any places remote and safe enough to go fast like that anymore.
