That sucks man.... As mean as your SHO looks I would have guessed that pillar would have moved out of your way.

Storm... it makes me want to cry!  Glad your replacement parts aren't too bad.

I recently backed the wife's Durango into a light pole.   I was going too fast for backup sensors to help,  heard the alert just before impact.   

I'm not fixing the wife's car,  gets abused with kiddo duties.   But no question on spending the money to repair the SHO. 

You do have another option....








...wrap the car in matte black

So truthfully, you could probably grab a heat gun and something with a bit of shaping ability metal blocking tool, maybe the blunt end of a screwdriver if it is a good one that won't melt), and heat up the bumper from the inside, slowly and with moderate heat.  Then gently push the "dent" back out, little by little.  Then, let it cool and buff-polish the bumper on the outside, maybe a tiny bit of touch-up paint.  It isn't nearly as bad as you think, I think.

Ouch!!!  I feel your pain, Storm.  Hard keeping the SHO perfect all the time!

That's exactly what happen to me. I park in front of this pillar every day for past 12 months. I pulled forward to reposition because it's next to wall (why I love spot, I can hug wall and have ample space on drivers side), and I came back WAY to fast. Sensors went off and I slammed on brake; it was like I basically parked on pillar. Idiot move.

Thank you! I'll go see my buddy at body shop and see if he can save it. It turns out parts are going to be $750 just from Ford. There is a core charge on bumper cover unfortunately. If I can save the bumper cover; I don't mind buy new lower -- that thing is like $150 bucks. Cover it freaking expensive; plus I'd need to paint it.

somebody got me in a store parking lot, usually never take it shopping but had been out of town for a week & wanted to drive her. sob just hit & left. was bad enough had to replace whole bumper so had to turn in to ins, $500 deduct gone. good part was had some imperfections back there where trunk closed now all gone.

Great news.

Bumper cover can be saved. I just need to order a $160 lower and pay $500 to repair and paint rear.

She goes in the 7th to be fixed. Way better than the $1200 I was expecting.

Don't pay full cost on parts...............you should be able to get at least 25% off at your local dealer.    List is just that, list.    Look up pricing on oemfordpart.com for a guide on what it should cost you. 

My wife backed out of the garage one morning early to go to the gym and didn't look to see that my truck was in the driveway................backed right into it (fortunately for the truck, it has a ranchhand bumper on it, but that was unfortuate for the SHO).   I've told her she's gotta sit an look at it for a while before I repair it.
