Never really introduced the car, it's a 2011 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost 201A in Sterling Grey Metallic, picked it up in the beginning of the year. Plans are to create a fun daily driver that I could take to the track whenever I please and not disappoint!

Below is a simple side shot of the car, currently its got a custom intake and tint with a nice handful of mods on the way in the mail. Anyone have any suggestions on the color for painting the calipers? I'll be swapping rotors soon and am undecided if I should go with a silver or bronze/gold.

Current Mod List
MDesign Carbon Cold Air Intake
MDesign Carbon Fiber Engine Cover
Unleashed Tuning 93 Tune
EBC Stage 4 BBK (USR Rotor w/ EBC Red Stuff Pads)

Holy cow, that is a striking color!  I can imagine the visual changes as the day progresses from sunrise to sunset :)

I think silver would be hidden behind the wheels (too many spokes).  A little bronze/gold would look very good.  Just don't go Ferrari yellow or clockwork orange!
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Fist pic i've seen of your car's exterior.  Sharp!

Caliper covers would look great in your body color or something close.  Yellow or red would be out of place IMHO on this sophisticated sleeper.

Thanks! Yea the car tends to look more grey out of the sun when it's not hitting the metal flakes in the paint, like in the pic below. I was thinking of doing a STI/Brembo style gold for that very same reason about the spokes.

Thanks Tom! Yea definitely no yellow or red LOL, was thinking of bronze similar to the above to set off some flare behind those multi-spoke wheels or silver which would keep it a sophisticated sleeper (at least until the exhaust goes on!)! Btw sent you some emails, receive any?

There's nothing like being there for these new "chameleon-like" colors....
Like the pic of the calipers... especially if it goes better with the more grey appearance you can see in person.

(P.S. ... been swamped at work... will get reply out to your last email today!)
Cheers

Thanks Tom! I believe the gold will look good, but I also would like the clean look of aluminum cast colored calipers which is my dilemma! (Sounds good about the email, take your time)

Also I am now officially Tuned by Torrie, SCT X4 93-octane! Definitely, definitely get a tune.

Exhaust installed, MDesign Race Spec Prototype 1.

Pros: Increased power/quicker spool, better gas mileage, and now gurgles when you blip the throttle, sounds beautiful downshifting

Cons: Drone in 1800-2500RPM

Performance gains are confirmed via SCT X4 tuner. Under cruising and slight blipping of the throttle (1000-2000 RPM range) most of the time I am at -10 vacuum up to 0psi pre exhaust, post exhaust I now hit 2psi doing the same thing. Also I spin the tires effortlessly now, whether it's from a dig or roll on 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. While there is no rasp whatsoever and no drone in other RPM, the drone that is only noticeable in the 1800-2500 RPM range is a bit much to my liking therefore I'm willing to sacrifice some performance for sound reduction.

As of now I am contemplating using an oval shaped resonator up front which should eliminate drone considering the system is completely free-flowing, though am not sure if I want to stick with the original design (JimiJack's dual inlet/outlet resonator) or a wider and larger volume single in/out.

What mufflers and did you use this time?
2013 SHO

#8
They're all quality mufflers, Magnaflow free-flow polished stainless steel mufflers. I realized I should've went with a larger diameter resonator up front though wasn't sure how the 3" piping was going to fit with the resonator, have a larger resonator on order to see what that does.

Definitely sounds mean, getting a good video is hard since the sound is all bass with no raspiness therefore it's not really catching so no videos as of yet. I started a new thread to post all info/take comments in a organized place for us all:

I didn't go with caliper covers, I am going to end up painting the calipers a silver color.

Just an update, I installed Autolite Iridium XP5263 Plugs which are 1 step colder. Wow. The OEM plugs were gapped .40-45, as soon as I gapped these bad boys up to .30 and dropped them in the car instantly got back some throttle response. Highly recommend them, plus they're cheap. I paid $30 through Advance Auto Parts using a coupon.
