I got the new tune; while keeping my originals on device.

Going to load it up and test it out.

I may or may not go to Ford day on 19th with DP's; so I could test both tunes--sorta. The only concern I have is adaptive tranny learning; kinda sucks when it's slamming gears at track but that might not hurt me too much.

SHOdded

Maybe you can compare both tunes at the start of the adaptive process!  Good luck :D
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

OK; so I went out and ran it for bit -- I need the track to validate any of what I felt or saw. Ford day is the 19th at Cecil so I'll be there. I'm pretty sure my DP's will be here early next week so Thursday I'll get them installed.

I had some hesitation in downshifting and during mid-points; like cruising and then dropping hammer or cruising and adding more power. This seems to be completely gone. I now start pressing gas down and she starts building boost instead of falling on her face and dropping 500rpms.

I got one launch at light; took me 20 minutes to hit the light right. It was uphill on highway; 2k boost launch; spun a little and hit 110 pretty quick but by no way drag times because I was going up hill. I did feel sucked into seat so I think boost is on point. I drop the car off this Thursday to get the gauges hooked up (minus AFR until DP's arrive) so this weekend I can actually compare true boost versus Aeroforce, Torque, or SCT device. I did see someone say they only saw 12lbs max; interested to see if that's true. I'm pretty sure old tune was hitting 15lbs.

I will test both tunes for sure; it seems to load tunes A LOT faster than before. When I first did this it took like 30 minutes almost a year ago; this time it was like 10 minutes; so swapping at track, not a big issue.

Hey geswek, how were you able to keep your original tune? When I asked they said no? Weird.

I emailed and told them what I wanted.

My device now has 4 tunes, the two original and two new.

Sent from my mobile, I think.

Just installed v8 and holy hard shift into second car felt good and seemed to pull better with better shift points... gonna take it a lot easier on car now though don't wanna create to much wear on tranny...

Yeah. I think I my tranny hates v8.

But hasn't the hard shift into second been there following a tune install in previous versions as well?
Then it dissipates over time as the car learns.

My tranny did learn over about 20-30 min driving with v8... the shifts are still very crisp and are firm as i like them... but not "slamming" into the next gear.  I will say that I can chirp the tires on a 1800 rpm launch and again going into second even with the grannies on.

The v8 shifts a lot harder on my car then the v7 did don't get me wrong it shifted firm before just a lot harder now

I still have this one issue; no idea what it is--always been present.

Sometimes when I'm throttling and have to stop instantly; it's like the tranny/gear/something jars--clunks.

It could just be load on the gears and then sudden lack of load with combination of boost;etc--kinda jaring the gear.

It's not crazy/loud/destructive--I'm not worried about it; just something I noticed.

Other then that I just put 100 miles on it; 22mpg so far. It's got some good power through the band. It definitely picks up and goes; I'll know actual boost tomorrow--car goes under knife for gauge install--YES!

ShoBoat

Geswek, that sounds almost mechanical. Never had that one, and our cars are almost identical even the mods. Have you tried with the stock tune?

Probably no consolation to you, but I have the same issue in an Explorer Sport with a totally different tune, so I think it's more to do with the platform itself combined with our driving styles since not everyone seems to notice it.

I live in a subdivision with two speed bumps, if you are accelerating, and let off right before the shift it does this clunky/rough shift.    I feel it on the down shift as well, and it's pretty much only 1-2 and 2-1, never really feel it in any other gear myself.

Ryan hit it; it's not ALL the time.

It happens in low gear; high boost--I can pretty much do it on command but I don't. It happens in odd situations where I'm boosting high ready to split the next gear and suddenly I have to cut throttle.

I'm not really worried about it -- it's been like that since day 1 and my tranny is still strong at 24k miles.

Overall the tune feels good; I'll be at track in 2 weeks and will have numbers.

Ryan327

I really think it has to do with shifting without power applied when the engine is effectively braking on mine.  I'm not tremendously worried, but I can't imagine it being good long term either.
