Alright guys, I got around to fixing my ambient lighting. For those of you that have lighting thats out of sync like me where one door was light different then the others you need a new ambient lighting harness. And here is link to ebay auction for right front door.

Okay on to the how to:
door panel pry tool
plastic pry tool
philps screw driver
10mm socket
8mm socket

1st thing you will remove is the sail behind side view mirror just pops off.


next you will remove trim piece, this is held by several clip and is pretty thin so you want carefully slide your pry tool to pop each clip.



next pry up window switch plate from edge shown in above photo by pry tool.



next will remove panel from behind door handle. Using a small flathead screw driver pry into the very top over the top tab will pull right out.


Now you have access to all screws and bolt attach door trim panel.
2 philps head screw at bottom of door.




One one edge of door.



and another behind trim strip you removed.

Now for the 8mm bolt at the other end where trim strip covered.


Now the 2 10mm bolt from under window switch plate and from behind door handle cover.




Now the door panel has to be unsnapped from mounting clips I had access to complete set of snapon door removal tools but the clips are very deep behind door trim a was about pry off one using tool but rest I had to get my finger in behind and sharply yank over each one. I don't not recommend doing this on cold plastic or if have never done this before. Door skin list for nearly $1000.

Now that you have the door panel off unplug electrical connections and remove door handle release cable.

No you door panel should be free of the car.


2 philps head screws and several clip attack lighting harness remove screw and carefully pry off clips.

Just ordered this part for my right door (conveniently enough) as I noticed recently that the lighting in that door handle area was out of sync like Chris's was......

My ambient lightning defaults back to the green/blue color after a week or two.  I've seen other people post about it.  Anyone else do this?  Wonder if there is a software fix.

Mine does the same thing.  Ford has a bulletin on it, but I have never got mine fixed.

Going to have this fixed on my next visit.

Good luck- even with the work performed, mine still reverts back to the blue. I thought I would be slick and turn off ambient lighting only to have it turn back on ( blue).
